yeah, it does stands for vintage original specs. supposedly Gibson is using the same grain filler and finishing process on these like they did on the 58 and 59's, which faded like crazy. gibson switched up the process in 1960, which if you look at these guitars the 58, 59's usually fade out to a orange or amber color, or the red goes dark to a tobacco brownish color. even though they all were originally just painted in a cherry burst. the 1960's versions usually stays true to the right color.
there's other little things too like the tortoise shell side dot inlays and the spague bubble bee caps, but it doesn't call for 5 grand, trust me.
