Danny;
Summers come and gone, Don't forsake us now. Finish the Tele.
I should talk, I took mine out of the case a few days ago, played it, and put it away.
Still afraid to do the finish.

Dub;
I'm going to attempt the finish on mine in the coming weeks, before it gets to cold. We are still in the 90's here in Anza, should be about the same where you are.

It's been a long time since I started this project but finally have gotten around to spraying a finish on it. I mixed up some toners to achieve what I 'think' is a close color of the original 50s guitar. Since I have never seen the real deal I can only go by photo's in my copy of the Blackguard book and what I find on the internet. Next will come wet sanding and several clear coats.

looks really good Danny
just a little too much yellow to my taste (but it doesn't count cause i love the shade of color of mary key yellowed )
i don't find the pics where is a jazzmaster ,a telecaster and and the stracaster all in blonde ;) (find on fender book first pic in the book ,l'age d'or de fender 1946 1970 on the left under corner http://fender.typepad.com/.a/6a00d8348d ... 72b970c-pi )
but yours is great (and more over blonde is totally abstrac cause there is so much shade of ,for every body liking )

Thanks Bob and Ludobag! I've had a difficult time trying to determine the right shade. Some photo's show a very yellowed finish while others depict a pale more cream color as seen on this page. :arrow: https://www.google.com/search?q=1950+br ... 2#imgdii=_

Obviously camera lighting changes the effect of the true color as I have the body I just painted next to the computer screen and the color does not look the same as the photo I posted. I think it just needs sixty years of bar room cigarette smoke stains.
