I found these to be helpful to see how Chris did it. I like the plastic tubing trick to pull the pots through.

Update on the Gretsch - I decided to spring for neck reset and wow, what a difference! Now there's plenty of break angle over the bridge so the stock roller is back in the Bigsby. Here's the break now, with a Gretsch roller bridge:

Also, the guy I got the guitar from was kind enough to make me a custom pickguard, in the style of the Chet Atkins "Nashville" model, only this one is "meshuggener" (crazy). Here's a glamor shot resting on a Vox Buckingham:

Mel, are those Dynas or Dearmond 2000's? How do you like having three single coils?

The middle one is a vintage Dynasonic and the neck/bridge are TVJones TArmonds. The TArmonds are right in the tonal range and output of the Dynasonic. I like having three single coils; that's my standard setup!

Mel, I don't know if you got my message but you should seriously consider coming to the Gretsch Roundup by Lake Tahoe in September. Sarah and I will be there, and somehow this year it's a surf-themed event! Bring your Gretsch and maybe a Mosrite or two!

Thanks Fritz, I did - I was waiting till I had a definitive answer before replying, but I'm hoping I can, it sounds like fun!

That would be so much fun! Dr. Gretsch usually attends as well. I am at a loss as far as "surf" music is concerned. I had better learn some quick!
