That's right olrocknroller, we're talking woman's hands here...that makes it different. ;)
Sarah, perhaps you should think of a way to protect (copyright) your pedal...who knows, it might be put on the map one day.

Thank you Paul. That is an excellent suggestion.

Whew!! I have finally finished this project. It took me a while to figure out all of the issues that I ran into and sometimes I had to think about something for a week or two to find my answer. From the beginning my goal was to use the metal car body and frame, build a pedal but not disturb the beauty of the model. I did not want knobs sticking out of the roof, etc. It was important to me to integrate all of the features and maintain the integrity of the car.

I feel that I've accomplished my goal. My last hurtle was making the trunk work with the switch and spring to return to ready position. It finally all came together tonight. I also wanted to try out the pedal for announcing it a success. So, I put it on the pedal board and played through it for about an hour this evening and it performed flawlessly! I am very pleased with it's look and functionality.

I will post completed photos tomorrow and record a video with it this weekend.

Yippee!

Way cool Sarah! Having seen this pedal in the flesh (iron?) it's a great concept - congratulations!

As promised, here are the latest pics. I woke this morning with the nagging need for a design review. I just didn't care for how much the trunk was open. So, I made a new switch mounting box that is 1/4" shorter out of aluminum square tubing. I think I will also look for a shorter spring and that will allow it to close a little further. I'm happy with the travel of the trunk. To actuate the pedal the trunk closes all the way down.

This is a prototype. The ones I offer for sale will have an acrylic bottom that will raise the tires off of the ground or pedal board.

To recap, this is an Overdrive pedal. The pots/knobs are the wheel axles and tires. So, the left front tire is how you adjust the "Level", the right front tire is how you adjust the "Drive" and the right rear tire is how you adjust the "Tone". The left rear tire is also a pot but it is not live.

I've purchased the domain name, http://www.GearHeadPedals.com. It will go live once I've created an array of offerings. The next project will be to make a Fuzz pedal from a Highway Patrol car.

Here is a shot of the front. This is where you plug in your One Spot or similar devise. Under the hood is a connection for a 9 Volt battery if someone chooses that method of power.

Nope, that is not a keg in the trunk, it is the footswitch and return spring.

With the doors open.

And on the pedal board to give you an idea of scale.

Next up is "The Fuzz". This will be a circuit copy of the Mosrite FuzzRite all stuffed in the Highway Patrol car.

I'll try to record a video of the Mercury Overdrive and post that next.

This is getting better and better all the time. Wow! they really jump at you from those excellent pics!
What a perfect match Sarah's pedal will be for Olav's 'new flame' Oigun recently pimped for him.

[actually, they're just to good to be stepped on; do we see a collector's item in the making?!]

Paul, that really 'sparked' my interest... I don't know how I missed this thread for so long.
You know I have to have one now.
Sarah, can we work something out? ;)
I love your choice of 'Fuzz' casing. You already have a 51 and now a 5-0.
Love it, love it, love it.
