Les Paul Burst

Postby oipunkguy » Thu Feb 09, 2012 9:24 pm

hey guys,

about three years ago I made a guitar for a friend of mine (here's the original posting: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=1039&p=9487&hilit=1959+les+paul#p9487) and I enjoyed the project so much I began working on one for myself as well, but It's been a back burner piece, I've been in no rush to finish it since I have 4 les pauls at home. here's the pics of the guitar I been working one. all she needs at this point is a little more clear coating, buffing out and putting her together.

Looks great Aaron! What is the basic guitar, is it a kit or a refinish of a real Gibson?

the build is almost made from scratch. I had help with making the neck and the basic cut out of the guitar body and the routing work on the body. but the rest is all me. I shaped the headstock, put in the gibson inlay and headstock veneer, bridge post, glued on the neck etc. I did the binding on the neck, but the binding on the body was done for me.

thanks, I'm going to be building the pickups for it too. my own version of the classic gibson PAF's but with the option of split coils. :D

Great looking bookmatch on the top! Better than most real Gibsons.
