The Ventures tunes selections on your Youtube Channel are quite amazing. Most of them are very rare and hard to find. Quite a treat for Ventures fans. Many thanks for taking time to collect them.

What would it sound like if The Ventures play their popular tune together with a jazz guitarist? For example; "Walk Don't Run" with Johnny Smith, Chet Atkins or other jazz guitarists? I don't think The Ventures have done this way before. (Please correct me if they did)

But famous guitarist Roy Clark had done it with Jazz Guitarist Maestro Joe Pass.

Let's hear Gerry McGee played Hank Williams' "Jambalaya" first.



Then, here is the same tune Roy played together with the late Joe Pass.

Joe Pass's solo lead as well as backing were simply amazing.

Thanks for your kind words, Vincent. It is indeed my aim to only upload rare and hard-to-find Ventures tunes, if and when I can lay my hands on them. YouTube is full of the more regular Ventures' recordings, which is good, but there's little sense in repeating them on my own channel. Glad you like it

Indeed, the tapered body is comfortable to play and helps to keep the traditional jazz box tone. It sounds almost like an acoustic guitar when play unplugged. When play thru an amp, the sound hole plugs (made of ebony wood) help to reduce feedback. But I prefer play with open sound holes.
