I was watching pawn stars the other night, and this guy come's in the store with a Mosrite Gospel guitar in almost perfect shape, asking 100,000 dollars for it. any way to make a long story short the guy claimed to be the foremost expert on mosrite guitars. His title was Dr. somebody can't remember his name that's how much he impressed me, it was all about him. I was just woundering if any one saw this besides me.

I saw this episode of Pawn Stars just yesterday. Wow, what a piece of work the owner of the Gospel was. I'm afraid I also missed his name. If it was Dr. Marks, I wouldn't be surprised. I dealt with Mark's once and came out fine but it was a difficult ordeal fer sure. Whomever this guy was, he tried to claim himself as the foremost expert on Mosrites in the world and claimed the guiar was worth $250,000 but he was going to give it to the pawn shop for $100,000.
Nearly as bad was the local dealer brought in to assist the Pawn shop in verifying the value of the guitar. He went on to say something such as, "All the surf music you hear from the early '60's was played on a Mosrite." It was quite a telling overstatement.

The guy that they usually bring in to verify guitars is the owner of Cowtown Guitars in Vegas, did not see the Mosrite episode, but the guy needs to wash his hair.

Thanks for the detail. I'm glad to know it's not Marks 'cause I would have been trying to find that episode again.
