Are you right-legged or left-legged?

Postby Haole Jim » Fri Dec 18, 2015 8:05 am

This is not a silly or health / physiology query.

When you play guitar or bass sitting down, does your instrument's lower waist rest on your right or left leg?

Over the decades, 'have heard the, "resting the guitar or bass on the right leg" as "proper" and the left more for classical players, "because of the more complex hand-work required."

The standing position with strap "seems" to place the guitar "more" in a "left-leg" position.

So, where does your Mo usually sit in your lap; resting on your left or right leg?

Right handed, right leg, when sitting. When standing, I wear my guitar low, so it's more third leg. 8-)

Right-legged, but I'm left-handed playing right-handed, if that matters, and I always play with a strap, sitting these days, but I used to play standing, six nights a week five sets a night. That's probably why I can't handle much standing these days, and playing seated makes it much easier to use my volume pedal. I'm left-footed, though...
