You may have already heard this but in case you didn't, today we lost Merle Haggard. He just turned 79, today was also his birthday. He was truly a legend in his own time. RIP!

I never knew too much about Merle personally. Bill Gruggett had some good stories to share about him. Semie Moseley made him a green Brass Rail guitar for a possible endorsement in 1976 that never came to fruition.
I know Merle's guitar player purchased a Hallmark Swept-Wing in the 60's from Joe Hall directly. I guess the Swept-Wing would have looked kind of crazy with a country artist so he never used it live. He eventually gave it to his son who recently contacted me and still has it.
