I could put a set of the Mosrite pup's in my custom clone with the Hallmarks, but I like the variety of the two different sounds. So, I'll just sit back and give it some thought before making any decisions. Also a custom clone of an early '59 -'62 side jack Joe Maphis sounds interesting but so does a clone of Damon's double neck minus the 'Bobby' pickguard. ;)

No rush, I still have to finish my Mosrite clone bass.

HEY!! THAT'S IT!!!! Make the Bass a 6 STRING!!!!
Now you got the pickups with the right pole pieces!!
make the Mos' of it, choose the 'rite stuff.

Well, the saga continues. I was just out in the shop examining the pups and low and behold, both of the non logo pups are actually dog ear mounted inside a ring. Man I wish I knew the story on these parts.

Sorry to hear about your losses, Danny!

But I'm happy to learn that professor Mr. Danny Bakersfield ended up with a find like this. Stuff like this could easily end up in the garbage. Maybe that guy, Artie guitarshop, has a few secrets to share with those parts?

Hopefully you can use these parts on a project that will truly be a family heirloom!

Danny,
It amazes me how things like this just seem to fall in your lap. I couldn't get hit by anything genuine Mosrite if I stood in the middle of Front Porch Music during an earthquake.

A lot of potential for projects ahead, and I for one, look forward to it!

Looks like you need to build 2 new guitars a set neck 1963 and a bolt neck 1966.

As for the Elliott pickups, I've got two on order. Ed's not making the logo tops anymore, which I wanted for the 66 that I'm rebuilding.

Eddy's pickups are great and sound the way Mosrite pickups are supposed to sound. Did he mention why he's not doing logo tops anymore?
