Looks really great, Jim. That's a Sunbursting X-ray finish you've got going there. Cool!

Danny

If you look close at the pic. you posted you will see it has the Hallmark pickups in it right now. I sent the Mosrite p/u's back to be replaced and haven't received them yet. The Hallmark p/u's sound very close to the Mosrite p/u's with both or the rear alone. The neck is still dark sounding or should I say lacks some of the sparkle of the Mosrite. The Hallmarks sound changed very little from 1 guitar to the other. As for the colors on the guitar they aren't as bright as the pic. makes it look. Just for a comparison the couch it is setting on is NOT a gray blue color but rather more of a buckskin color. I think it was a combination of the flash and not the best camera. I will try to get a better pic. of both the Hallmark and Mosrite together when I get the Mosrite pickups back. I will also make a sound clip of both so you can hear the difference.

Jim

I just want to add that Curtis was a pleasure to do business with.

Looking forward to that, Jim!

How much did your NOSrite end up costing you?

Thought it was time to learn to post pic's. here. Not as bad as I thought it would be.

These are a couple more photo's I have on my sight I thought I would share.

As for total cost on my project, after I buy a case for it (from Hallmark as they fit great) I will have about $1200.00 in it. That includes everything I needed to complete the guitar. You may be able to get a MIJ copy and even a Hallmark (for less, about $1000.00 after shipping) I am happy knowing that all the parts are real Mosrite parts.

Jim, that really turned out nice. The 'before' and 'after' are quite a contrast. How does it play compared to the Hallmark (feel of neck, overall balance and sound)?

Strat:
The Hallmark plays and feels so close to the Mosrite it is unbelievable. The balance is the same and the neck feels the same with the exception of taller frets on the Hallmark. As for the sound there is a difference between the two even with the Hallmark pickups in the Mosrite. When I get the Mosrite pickups back and in I will make a sound bite of both using the same amp and settings with both guitars wide open for tone and volume.

Thanks Gary, I play that guitar almost every day at home. I don't play it out all that much but do from time to time. I don't play the Hallmark out as much as I used to.I use my Gretsch 6122-58 or 6122-59 most of the time because that is what I am known for playing here in the Cortland area. If you like classic country give us a listen if you live in the area.
