Well I got the headstock cut and filled the old tuner holes, and re drilled the new ones and mounted the tuners. I have to cut a waist in the headstock to make it appear longer, it's really too short and I'm really not satisfied with it. It's ready for paint, decal and clearcoat. I'll finish the project but I think next time it will need to be made with templates and not just parts of other guitars. It's gonna look OK and I hope play well. Here are a couple photos.

You could always chop off the end and add a section like was discussed elsewhere in your Mosrite Dobro topic. Apparently Semie didn't have any problems doing it. Either way it should work fine. Good project.

I was thinking the same thing. If it's painted with Poly then it will likely now show a finish crack in forty years, if that is even a concern.

You also could consider a veneer on the front and back to cover the seams. Could be wood, could even be paisley wallpaper!

I re-cut the headstock and gave it a waist. It's close enough for now.
Paisley wallpaper, you might be on to something. Flower power hippy guitars.

Dubtrub;
After looking at your beauties, I feel like throwing mine in the trash.
I'm just practicing before I drop any real money into one, Just to see if I can do it.
Here is a link to a site I found interesting for finishes. I'm trying to finds colors.

I feel like that when I see Oigun, Terry and Ed Elliotts work.
Never get discourage. Everybody has to start at the beginning.
