Johnny Ramone MKII Redesign

Postby motiersbad » Fri Jun 08, 2012 11:32 am

Hello everybody,

i just redesigned my Johnny Ramones Signature Model. When i buyed in 2005 or 2006, it had the Stock Pickups with a Dimarzio FS1 in the Bridge and a Seymour Duncan Mini Humbucker in the Neck (Picture). Later (2009 i think) i changed the Pickups to Seymour Duncan Humbuckers (Picture).

So now, i wanted a new design and new Pickup Experiments, so i bought Ed Elliot Pickups and changed some things on the Chick like:

- New (Mosrite correct) Wiring (DONT LOOK TO CLOSE ON IT, IM NOT A GOOD SOLDER :D)
- Orange Drop 47nF (sounds very dark)
- reshaped the Pickguard that it looks closer to the original and painted the sites from 3ply to 1ply Black :D
- new Switch
- added The Ventures II Model Decal to the Headstock (Decal selfbuild)
- On the Pic are missing the new Mosrite Style knobs that i will receive from bob in the next days or weeks

But okay, here the Pics :D It looks great with the new Pickups and it sounds Killer over my Marshall JMP 2203 :D

this is great!!! how does she sound? I wish mark II models were made with this option, I bet it would be a big seller for mosrite fans.

It changed from a treble&thin monster to a heavy nailgun ;D The Tone has so much Punch, that it nails down our bass player and so much energy that you hear every hit on the Strings with a very clear, but little overdrived tone that i must turn the Presence on my Amp down to 0 ! Actually i play in a Punk-Band and the Sound over my Marshall JMP 2203 is so awesome, lovely i would turn up all pots to 11 and blow everything away - The Pickups has so much "Room" like Humbuckers, you dont miss anything from a Les Paul or a Strat - All in the Mosrite and that was my goal :D
