The red to blue fade is really cool . Can't wait to see the "completed" pictures. Please get some straight-on shots to highlight the red-blue fade. Really nice job!

Here she is! Except for some minor tweaks, complete, and actually playable. Had to take a belt sander to the neck heel to lower it in the neck pocket, as it was to thick to get the action I wanted. My thanks to Mel for the string guide, and for his posts on his own "Partsrite", and to Ed Elliott for reworking the pickups - these babies are hot, and sound great! Weighs in about 8.5 lbs, and seems to be super slim, both body and neck. I'll probably be tweaking it for weeks, but it is very playable as it stands. Thanks for all the help, guys. It was warm enough today to take some outside pix ....

Dan Dennis! That turned out sweet. Looks great, what minor tweaks are you talking about?

Su-weeeet!!! Dennis, Ditto on what Kevin asked about the tweaking. Are you referring to the
typical 'set-up' tweaking like adjusting p'up height, intonation, etc. ?

make the Mos' of it, choose the 'rite stuff.

Thanks, guys. On the tweaking, amazingly enough the intonation was almost spot on, but I like low action, so I'm working to get the bridge low enough. The adjustment screws have somewhat thick washers on them, and the bridge needs to sit almost on top of the briidge plate. I'm going to attempt to use the Dremel and thin the washer part down some. It's been an adventure ...

Beautiful guitar GattonFan. I know what you mean about the action and thats why I made all my tweaks on setup before I painted anything. I found that I couldn't lower the strings all the way down to the fretboard so I made a small change to the neck heel angle so that I could do so. I can lower my strings down so that they hit the last fret if I wanted to. The other plus side is that If I want to put a Hallmark bridge on it I should have just enough room for it to fit with the locking screws still in place.

Re: Another "Parts-Rite" ... Updated with pics - Completed!
Thanks, Jim! I've about got it now to the place I want it. I took the Dremel with the router attachment, and took the metal washers down to wafer thin, but still able to adjust the bridge up and down. That neck was the biggest issue - I had to remove it at one point, belt sand the heel, and re-paint it. It looked to be in good shape, but required more work than I thought it would. Anyway - this neck in no way compares to the 70s Fillmore/FirstMan Mosrites I have - this is the thinnest, narrowest neck I have ever played on.
