Help needed with Stereo wiring on a 70s Mosrite...

Postby sumlin » Thu May 02, 2013 2:09 am

Hi

Thought I'd do this as a separate thread to the Brass Rail one. I'm planning to get a new pickguard cut for the Brass Rail and change the electrics a bit. The route is a cavern and the output jack route is big enough for stereo outputs so I think it'd be cool to have it wired up this way. I'll probably just use all new electrics and keep the old pickguard and pots etc as they are.

Does anyone have a diagram/schematic/photo of how the Stereo Mosrites are wired? I know there were multiple options for the Brass Rail but I'm thinking of something relatively simple: vol/tone for each pickup, selector switch and then a stereo/mono switch of some sort. I think the Stereo 350 was wired this way right?

If anyone has any info they could share I would be very grateful.

I've seen model 350 guitars wired exactly the same as this. The two outputs from the volume controls are either connected together and sent to one jack, or they are each run to a separate output jack.

Thanks so much folks!
Quick question: do you ever get phasing issues when you're running to 2 amps?

Yes, it depends on the amps you use, but the difference in pickup position diminishes the effect. The two channels of one amp can be out of phase with one another as well, like a Twin Reverb for example.

Hi, sorry to resurrect this thread, but I am also trying to find a schematic for a 350 stereo guitar. Is this out there somewhere? The photos are showing up too blurry to see anything, could be because I’m on my mobile device...

Anyway any help would be great, thankyou!

It's not because you were using a Mobile device; that's just how Photobucket is now. If your computer's internet browser supports it, right click on each image and go to each image in a different tab; each image will show up clearly. You can then download the pics from each page.

If your browser doesn't work like that, use a different browser.
