Experienced eyeballs needed: Neck profile PDF rough draft

Hi everyone.

I've bought the guitarbuildingtemplates.com templates, and as everyone has said, they don't include a side profile for the neck. Using dubtrub's measurements in the sticky thread here and photo references from this forum, I've worked up a rough draft of a profile in Photoshop.

Not having a real Mosrite neck handy, I can't compare it to anything myself, so I'm hoping the community here will lend a hand by giving me some feedback, especially to let me know what needs to be corrected.

There are two different PDFs: One with the complete neck profile on one page (200dpi, should print at 100% if I've done it right), and the other with the profile broken up so it fits on a single sheet of 8.5" x 14" "legal" sized paper for easier printing. (In Acrobat, make sure your paper size is US Legal and it's set to print actual size, and of course make sure you have legal size paper in your printer ;) ).

Single-page is here: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BxrOZ7y2nzBDNXhleTFZTVk5V3c/edit?pli=1
Legal size page is here: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BxrOZ7y2nzBDX3I2aFd2TXBGM0k/edit?pli=1

Anyway, please let me know what you think, and any changes or corrections that are needed.

Thanks!

I get nothing but a blank page when I open the links.

Try these links:

Single page: http://www.bevelweb.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/7-18-13-Mosrite-neck-profile-one-sheet.pdf

Oigun has given me some more details on the pickup cutaway in the heel, so I'll be updating that. Scale is Gibson 24.625" (since that what my slotting jig does), headstock angle is 7*, and heel angle is 2*.

I can't speak for the dimensions, but profile looks good to me.

Thanks!

I'm refining the heel a bit, and I think I'll tweak the headstock a bit, too. I think there's too much drop from the string guide to the face of the headstock, which makes the volute larger to compensate.

UPDATE:
cmiller started a thread here (http://mosriteforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=6028) for his first build, and the subject of this profile came up. I've updated the profile considerably, and thought I'd post that info here, as well, just in case.

Cmiller asked me in a PM what I was using to create my profile. I think it's important for any online community to share this sort of info, so I'm posting it here in this thread, too.

I started out using Photoshop, because that's what I use at work the most, and I have a copy at home. However, it's not the best tool for the job, so I've switched to Inkscape - a free (!) vector editing program. You can download it here:
http://inkscape.org/en/

Here's a link to my working Inkscape SVG for the neck profile. Feel free to download, copy and edit to your own needs:

I've annotated my measurements on the file so everyone can see what's going on. Here's a PDF for those who don't want or have Inkscape:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxrOZ7y2nzBDRllNWmVybE5pYk0/

I'm using a combination of metric and SAE inches in my measurements, but I'll probably convert it all to metric eventually, since it's more precise.

Please let me know if anything on these needs to be corrected.
