Me and my Mosrite

Postby 64sunburst » Sun Jul 10, 2011 3:51 am

Our surf band Tiki Taboo just played a gig at the opening of the 4th Annual Honolulu Surf Film Festival. Here is my MIJ Mosrite in acton.

Hey, Byron!

Great photo and your equipment is excellent. What amp are you playing through?

Also, you look very dapper.

Sharp setup! Was that an indoor or outdoor show? Waikiki or downtown?

Thanks guys! The amp I'm playing thru should be familiar to Veenture - it's a Custom Vibrolux Reverb. The blonde tolex makes it look vintage, but it's not. This was at Honolulu's art museum - The Honolulu Academy of Arts, and this was outside in a sort of patio area between the theater and the cafe - very nice setting. I finally had a good shot of the Mosrite, so I had to post it.

Hey, Byron--

I thought that might be what it was. That must sound great with the Mosrite guitar.

Ah, the Academy of Art - a hidden gem in town, at least as far as tourists are concerned. Jess and I were there a few years ago and pretty much had the place to ourselves. Great place to contemplate art.

I think most anything sounds pretty good thru the Vibrolux. But I played a party 2 weeks ago and played thru a friend's Pro Reverb, and that was awesome. I used to own a Pro Reverb, but it was killing my back to lift it into my car, or just to lift it in general. So I go with the lighter Vobrolux, which still sounds really good.
