The Ventures In Space - Live Performance - Chicago Area

Postby Mr. Bill » Thu Dec 11, 2008 1:30 pm

This Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 7 pm, a bunch of the employees at the store I work at will be performing the entire Ventures in Space album, live. Fortunately for the audience, I will not be playing!

The band will feature members of Spies Who Surf and other staff members, including Marshall Dawson and Tommy Klein.

If you're in the Chicago region and would like to attend, it's free and open to the public. It's at The Guitar Works, 709 Main Street, Evanston, IL 60202, 847-475-8055.

I do plan to be there, so if any of you out here can make it, find me and introduce yourself!

If I can get off early next Tuesday, there is a slim chance I may go but it looks unlikely at this point.

That must be a cool show. Too bad it's not in Finland.

I love The Ventures In Space album! And Mosrite-wise, it's historical too because that was the first album The Ventures used their Mosrites...
This concludes my report from outer space. Now, back to studio!

I love the Ventures "In Space" album as well as the "Calling All Martians" CD the Spies Who Surf put out in the early '90's. Tommy Klein wrote many great songs on that one. I'm hopin' some of this performance of the "in Space" album show up on youtube.

Will they be playing Mosrites?

Last night we had a very bad snow storm in Chicago area. Traffic was a nightmare. Most people spent 3-4 hours going home... :( It would have taken me 4-5 hours to get there. Hope many people showed up at the concert.

Sorry you couldn't make it.

Yeah, traffic was a real bear. Even so, there was a good turnout and a good time was had by all. Someone was taking photos and videos, if I find out any info about where they are posted I'll let you know.

Yo Mr. Bill, Did the Spies Who Surf play Mosrites as they were blowin' through the In Space tunes?
