Hallmark Red Silver and Blue 60C "Dots?"

Postby Bob Shade » Tue Oct 22, 2013 2:32 pm

Hey Guys!

Every once in a while you get a guy that is not as comfortable as most are with the microdot fretboard markers. I like them. but to some it is a deal kill.

We just got a request from another player who wanted larger dots in pearloid (Gibson style) rather than the plain white microdots.

My response was........Dots possible!

So I cut dots out of a sheet of pearloid that we use for other appointments and here is the result.

If anyone wants this option on their Hallmark Guitar when ordering just let us know. It is a $50.00 upcharge and takes about 1+1/2 hours for us to make the dots and complete the job.

Dot guitar in these images is on it's way to it's new owner now in dot alligator case!

Minor thing for most guys, but major for some. We have many varieties of colors we can use for any dots.

I knew a lady named Dottie once.

Dots just remarkable.

Bob

Cool! Something different. It works because there are still the double markers, and not just at the 12th fret.

Very cool! Nice work Bob. Looks awesome even with big honkin dots. I love that you stayed with the double/triple 12th dots....just bigger.

I never really realized how much I use the "dots" myself until I played a Mosrite for the first time. I was like, wtf is going on here? Lol. I'm used to it now with the Hallmark but it's still a little mental adjustment when switching from the giant trapezoids of my Les Paul to the tiny microdots of the 60C.

Hey Bob,

Why don't you call the bigger dot model 'the 70C' for customers wanting the larger markers??
After all, in the 70s, Semie had started using the larger markers (dots) on the fretboard......
just my 2 sense...er cents... .
make the Mos' of it, choose the 'rite stuff.

I think it looks great. With the bold color scheme, and the design of the guitar, the larger dots fit right in. Super job Bob!

Hey, I like that idea...........refer to the larger dots as making a 70 Custom! Dot is a good idea!
