Hallmark guitars in my home Studio......

Postby MarkyKobane » Wed Jan 14, 2015 3:21 pm

I was lucky enough to find the Sparkle Green Swept wing on eBay and snag it.
UPS cracked the neck joint but it still plays as good as it looks.
I will posts some pics soon.
Today something happened and wanted to share it with everyone (especially Bob).
I have been recording about 3-5 bands a month for extra cash and it's a blast.
Networking is great and the punk scene in Chicago is probably the best I've seen in the last 10 years.
Anyways today I recorded a band, and the guitar player brought a black beauty.
A $4,000 guitar.
After seeing and playing my swept wing the Gibson went back in the case.
Which was a blessing because he was playing clean too.
He said he loved the way the neck felt, and it had a Rat Fink sticker on it. ;)
Everyday at work I have to try and sell Fender, Gibson, PRS, you name it.
It's funny when someone asks me "What do you play?"
I get a sense of elitism and think "You wouldn't even know."
I try to explain... and just say custom vintage style guitars.
:)

That was a great score on the Green Swept-Wing Marky! We made very few in that finish. The one you have belonged to the bass player I was in a band with in the late seventies. He wanted it because he thought his boys may pick it up and use in out there in Costa Mesa.

His boys never ended up learning to play guitar so, it got very little use. I am glad you have it now, it deserves a good home.

I get e-mails from customers on a regular basis that think our guitars are in a league of their own in play, tone and value. These are guys who have purchased top brand guitars like Gibson, Fender and PRS etc. and not that those guitars are not good too, but they say things like, your guitar plays so effortlessly and have a variety of fantastic tones and I can't believe I got this quality of guitar!

The thing alot of people don't know is that all of our guitar models sound slightly different in tone than each other. For example the 60 Custom has a very round tone with deep lows and highs all at the same time, where the Swept-Wing has a fantastic snap and ballsy twang. So, this is something to consider when you make your purchase.

Thanks for the shout out Marky! Keep rocking my friend!
