Wanted a Mosrite type of guitar, Bought a Hallmark 60 Custom

Postby DrPretto » Thu Sep 03, 2015 6:49 am

Hello everyone, this is my second post. I introduced myself on the first one.
Now this is my little review of my 60 Custom Guitar.

I received my Hallmark 60 Custom Ink Blue guitar a few days ago. The first thing when I opened the case: The color is so beautiful, my eyes could not believe it. Then everything is well crafted, just perfect. And to my surprise the headstock is signed by the one and only Mr. BOB SHADE, I also love the crocodile style case. I am very pleased, I have many guitars including Fender, Gibson, Gretsch, Rickenbacker, etc…and to be honest this is my best guitar by far. I plugged it and it just sounds like The Ventures heaven, through my Fender amp with reverb.
I am very happy, my father loves it also. So I bought another one for him in Candy Apple Red color.

I will posting some pics, and do some sound clips, maybe a demo video.
These guitars sound like Ventures heaven as I said before, through my Fender Superchamp X2 tube amp, with maximum Reverb.
For my money these are the best guitars I have bought in my life. Oh by the way, I love that Shade Tremolo Arm, maybe even more than the Bigsby on my Gretsch Country Classic.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thanks to Mr. Bob Shade, I am very pleased with my purchase, guitars are so beautiful and with an excellent sound, that I don’t know if I should play them or put them in a museum as master pieces of art. ;)

Congratulations on your purchase(s) Drpretto! If I share this with my son, he might get the hint!

A demonstration video would be nice. If you do that, I'm wondering what it sounds like through the amp with the treble up all the way and the mids and bass down as far as possible. (That's a setting I like to use.) Thanks. :)

Hey Austin, I need a video camera with a good mic, until that moment, I will record some sound clips. So what type of music you like?
Surf Rock, Punk, Blues, Classic Rock? So I can try something you can relate.

Thanks. Surf Rock, yeah. Like the Planet Claire riff that The B52s played. Since you mentioned Punk too, it may also be interesting to hear it with Treble, Bass and Mids all the way up like Johnny Ramone played.

It would be nice to hear a Minutemen cover (partial) too;

Ah, what's going on with the YT link thing? It didn't work when I posted it.

Hey gang!

I would like to thank Rafael for his kind review, and setting a great example for kids everywhere!

What a lucky Dad you have. How about a picture of the both of you with your new guitars?

Looking forward to some sound clips and or videos as well,

All the best and surfs up!!

Thanks Bob.
Work is absorbing too much of my time. I will try to record some sound clips. Video is difficult at this moment. Both guitars are beautiful and sound great.
I will take some pics as soon as I can.

Rafael
