Hello my name is Gene and I am a guitaraholic.

I have been playing since the age of 9 and 1967. Started with a Conrad sunburst that my older brother kept. I was able to hold on to a 67 Telecaster that is in my care. Takamine PSF94, Roadhouse Strat, Yamaha APX 10N, Martin Backpacker, a Fender 5 string Jazz bass, a couple Eleca (China ?) acoustic bass and resonator. A Jackson Charvel and a Les Paul clone from Cameo. A beater Harmony acoustic for camping (cost $5.00).
Kalamazoo and Fender amps.
After Mel Bay 1,2,3,...... and lessons it was Walk Don't Run, Pipeline and Wipe Out. Sports, cars and married to my first wife now more than half of my life.

A buddy of mine died in Feb and was the first owner of a Gibson J45 and a 68/69 Mosrite MK V. Years ago I had played both and remember both being in Very Good to Xlnt condition. Ventures model without the logo and dark blue. Price has not been agreed on yet with his wife. She wants me to get each but we have to be fare. Shipping, is it a pain? :?:

Welcome to the forum Gene. Sounds like you've got a nice collection of guitars to keep company with the ones from your friend. I find the most difficult challenge of shipping a guitar is finding a box. The best way is to ask a local music store. Once you've got the box, the guitar should be detuned a bit and secured in it's case (old towels or rags work well) and then the case wrapped with bubble wrap and put in the box.

Ditto on what "Tri-Powered Mel" mentioned. Try to stay clear of the peanuts
if you can, being that they can get quite messy ;) .

Welcome Gene! If you can't find a shipping box, U-Line does have them, but for a pricey $15.00 as I recall.

Thanks for the help, I will have to check out U-Line. I will probably fly to San Jose or Sacramento drive to Stockton and have the boxes ready.Do I trust baggage handlers or use Fedx/Ups ?
