Re: Mosrite 300 and 350 Serial Numbers? (Guitar and Bass)

Postby 101Volts » Mon Oct 18, 2021 5:47 pm

Latest Update:

18 Oct 2021:

1: Minor updates to the list.

2: Model Trivia section changed.

3: Guitars Added and Moved to Speculated Section:

A0126 / A0128, Mono, Red. Moved from Unknown # section to Speculated # section. (The eBay UK 2012 Guitar.)

A0175 or A0275, Stereo, Brown Burst added. I forgot to add this one in.

Legend:

An instrument new to the list (or moved from an Unknown section) as of the day the list is updated, whether the instrument has a number or not, will have Bold and Underscored Text for its Serial Number (or "unknown number") to stand out. (Examples: A0100 and A0xxx [Unknown 350 Guitar Example.]) When one of these marks is new, I'll also keep it in bold underscored text in the following update, but I'll remove the marks in the update after that.

Instruments that are finished in any kind except Natural, White or Yellow will have their finish set in colored text, except for Black. Black instruments will use Bold Text, to stand out more clearly.

Model Trivia:

The 300 and 350 models were introduced in the 1970s, but I'm not sure exactly when; 1971 or 1972? They seem to have gone until 1974.

300 models are 1-Pickup (in stock form) models. They came as Guitar and Bass. Few have shown up, though I don't think they'd be any more valuable than a 350 model in 2021. Basses had the pickup both in the Neck position, and Bridge position (Bridge Position being more common, if what little I've seen of them is accurate.) Guitars seem to have only had the pickup in the Neck position, but the list is incomplete, yet.

350 models are 2-pickup models that came as Guitar and Bass. There are "Stereo" (2 cord output, to send each pickup signal to a different amp, if desired) and "Mono" (1 cord output) models of each Guitar and Bass. It appears that Stereo models are more common than Mono models. The Mono models only seem to have been made between A0100 and A0185, but not all of those in that # range are Mono models.

Typical Specs for 300 and 350 Models:

24.5" Scale Length (Guitar,)
30.0" Scale Length (Bass.)
Mosrite Humbucker Pickups.
Mahogany Body
Mahogany Neck
Rosewood Fretboard

Tym Brennan has a few models that are exceptions to the rules.

300 Models:

Basses - 5:

KB0063 Number updated at the forum in Dec 2020. More photos downloaded, Jan 18, 2021. https://www.talkbass.com/threads/mosrit ... t-23820986

Guitars - 4:

K0005: Natural. Has 1 Stock Neck Pup. Pic saved. Also has initials, "E.W.," beneath the serial number. Owned by Alan Manoian, who also owns 350 Guitar A0150. http://www.mosriteforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=357
K0006: Natural. Owned by forum member mosriteforever. Mentioned at the same link as K0005, above.
K0010: ? One probably stock humbucking pup at neck position, no bridge pup. Mentioned first here, by Moaimen: viewtopic.php?p=71576#p71576
K0016: ? Has a probably stock and slanted Neck Humbucker, and a Single Coil Bridge Pup (which was probably added later.) It has 2 knobs, 3 switches, and Mono wiring. Mentioned first here, by Moaimen: viewtopic.php?p=71576#p71576

Speculated # Section - 1 Guitar:

K0009: Natural. Pic saved. Vaguely appears to be K0009, but I can't tell for sure in the photo. Doesn't have its stock pickup installed at the moment. It has been drilled to have a Bridge Pickup, too. It has a Bill Lawrence pup in the Bridge, a Seymour Duncan P90 in the neck, and an extra knob. Owned by forum member "rtdreep," who has owned it since 1978 (roughly speaking.) He does have the stock pickup, though. The guitar was mentioned in the forum, here: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=7994

Known #s - 10

AB0036: Stereo, Blue. Photos and page saved. Has a Maple neck. Ad says the body's made of Alder. This finish may be original, since it looks old, and it looks like it aged like other 350s. This is the second Blue 350 I've seen; A0148 (a Guitar) is also Blue. https://reverb.com/item/34060236-mosrit ... blue-1970s Photos from 2016, before this instrument was for sale on Reverb, show this instrument without a Mosrite logo. No tape, just no logo. UPDATE, Dec 17/18 2020: Owned by Talkbass Member "blastoff," who also owns 300 Mono Bass KB0063.
AB0037: Stereo, Brown. (Ad says "Burgundy.") Does not have M Knobs. Pics and pages saved. https://reverb.com/item/479915-mosrite- ... s-burgundy https://www.amazon.com/70s-Mosrite-Ster ... B00TZNPP4E

AB0116: Stereo, Brown Burst. Doesn't have M Knobs. Pic saved. Owned by Jo Webb, who also owns Stereo 350 Guitar A0102. Thanks for sharing the number.
AB117: Black. Mentioned at the link provided, but only in a description from years ago. I saved the description. Link: https://thea.com/Bass-Mosrite-Bass/

No # - 1:

No Number: Mono, Natural. Pics and page saved. Oddly, it has Single Coils and 3 M Knobs. Has Grover tuners.
https://reverb.com/item/6616165-mosrite-mono-350'

Speculated #s - 2:

AB0032: Stereo, Red. - Was on eBay Australia in March 2010, for sale by seller "waitebt." This is likely to be AB0032, but I can't make out the A, or the first digit after the B.
AB0047: Stereo, Brown. I'm not sure of the 4 that I read, but I'm more confident that there's a 7 at the end. - 2 Piece Neck. Pic and page saved. http://www.oldfrets.com/Mosrite.html

Unknown #s - 7:

AB0xxx: Stereo, Black, owned by forum member HiFiHellcat. May or may not be the second instrument described just below this listing. Photos were not provided.
viewtopic.php?p=66715
AB0xxx: Stereo, Black (link no longer works, and was not saved at Wayback. Link saved just in the rare case someone might talk about it here.) May or may not be the instrument just above.
http://www.kaitori.guitars/products/det ... ct_id=4638
AB0xxx: Stereo, Black. Pic and page saved. Owned by The Gear Page member nmiller.
ABxxxx: - Stereo, Brown. showed up on eBay Australia in March 2010.

Later Ones (somewhere after AB0072. These are later, as evidenced by the cheaper knobs used:)

AB0xxx: Stereo, Aged White or Yellow (not the one below.) Belongs to, or belonged to forum member "coanda." It does have a #, but I can't tell what it is in the pic. viewtopic.php?p=59353#p59353
AB0xxx: Stereo, Lemon Yellow/Aged White Finish. Was on eBay in February 2011. Pics saved. Doesn't have Mosrite M Knobs (just like A0345 which is also Yellow,) and it appears that Mosrite used cheaper knobs late in the model run.
viewtopic.php?f=27&t=4063
AB0xxx: Stereo, White. Has the Radio Shack-type Knobs on it. I expect this is a late one. Shown in this Youtube video from user "Rusted Vacuum," but the bass was not played in the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ISR68ErQ_L8 UPDATE, 2021 - June - 5: Found 1 photo of the same bass, and saved it.

A0041: Stereo, Natural. Pic saved. Has M Knobs, and a white pickguard cover. Found on Facebook, posted by Thomas Maisenbacher.

A0050, Stereo, Natural Finish. Photos and page saved. Initially posted by Forum Member "woodeye1." viewtopic.php?f=4&t=6962&hilit=350 Was later for sale on Reverb in Late August 2019. A0117, Stereo, Natural; Showed up on eBay in July 2018 for $1890. VG+ condition or better except there's a mark next to a screw on the neck plate. Auction said it was a 1973 model and there were a few mis-drilled screw holes under the pickguard.
A0128: Mono, Red: Seen in this Facebook video: https://www.facebook.com/10000638380552 ... 352481369/
A0135: Mono, Natural. Pics saved. Owned by Joseph Curran, who bought it in 1978. Thanks for sharing the number.
A0142: Mono, Brown (Not "Brown Burst.") Finish has surprisingly not cracked very much, though there are a few chunks of finish missing. Showed up on eBay in later July 2020 (July 20 - 25) from user "ruarris1." Pics and page saved. viewtopic.php?f=27&p=71402#p71402

A0148: Mono, Blue and 5 M Knobs (?) Also, it has a Fender Bridge on it. Pics and page saved. The page claimed this guitar was used by The B-52s, but no link's provided to this claimed video. Maybe he meant the brand was used by The B-52s? https://www.stubblebinelutherie.com/gui ... n-ink-blue
A0150: Mono, Brown (Not "Brown Burst." Has a faint gold hue if you look at it right.) Pic saved. Bought by Alan Manoian on eBay in 2004 or so. He also owns 300 Guitar #5. Thanks for sharing the number.

A0207, ? (probably stereo,) Natural. I posted it years ago:
viewtopic.php?f=27&t=6115
A0217: Stereo, Natural. Was on eBay in June, 2010.
A0223: Stereo, Natural. Doesn't have "M" Knobs. Listed on Reverb by Mike and Mikes Guitar Bar on October 5, 2019. Neck Humbucker says 10 - 8 - 73.

A0227: Stereo, Natural. Doesn't have Mosrite "M" Knobs. Listing ended in April 2012. Number is according to auction description. https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/11 ... solid-body
A0232: Stereo, Natural - Ended on eBay October 13 2018.
A0237, Stereo, Black. I posted it at the forum in February 2014:
viewtopic.php?f=27&t=6119

A0258 - Stereo, Natural. Owned by Scott Gammon. Thanks for sharing the number.
A0266 - Stereo, Odd Finish; either Translucent Brown, or some sort of Translucent Butterscotch color. Showed up on Reverb on 2021 - June - 29. https://reverb.com/item/41559486-mosrit ... 1973-brown
A0270, Stereo, Brown Burst. Showed up on Reverb on May 20, 2018 from SRM Music.
https://reverb.com/item/12271768-mosrit ... rown-burst
A0271, Stereo, Brown Burst. Pics and page archived. Sold by "hammondguy" on eBay on October 29, 2020 for $1,195. Has been refretted, and the zero fret is now stainless.
A0293, Stereo, Red Burst. Pics saved. A clear photo of it was posted on Facebook from "Blues Rock" in Hong Kong, and I saved the photo. This is highly likely to be the guitar I linked in the Reverb ad; the wood matches up. If it is the same guitar, they bought it without M Knobs, and added M Knobs later (which may or may not be accurate to how it was originally sold.) The older Reverb photos are barely legible, but I made out that they seemed to be A025? or A029?, judging by the closer photo. Reverb ad:
https://reverb.com/price-guide/guide/24 ... 0-1974-red
A0309, Stereo, "Walnut Burst" (probably a Brown Burst.) Had a nut instead of a metal string guide when it showed up in February 2014. I posted it years ago: viewtopic.php?f=27&t=6118
A0329, Stereo, Black. Has M Knobs, and has a Bigsby added. Once owned by Michael Marks. http://home.insightbb.com/~marksma/wsb/ ... 63768.html
A0331, Stereo, Black, Owned by Forum Member In-stereo.
A0344, Stereo, Black. Nate Gibson's Guitar. Pics saved. Has been customized and repaired, and it has M Knobs. The pinstriping on it was done by Charlie Decker, the Armrest and Pickguard by Sarah here on the forum, and Evan Williamson worked on the crumbling binding. Also, I saved a photo of what's probably it, pre-customization, from Eastwood Guitars' site. I tried, and I was then able to make out the numbers as being "A0?44:" https://eastwoodcustoms.com/projects/mosrite-350/
A0345, Stereo, Yellow. Pics and page saved. Knobs are teardrop shaped. Listed on Reverb by Poway Jewelry and Loanon September 20, 2019. https://reverb.com/item/28163955-vintag ... ric-guitar
A0349: Stereo. Natural. Knobs are Plastic, probably original. Sold by "Big Brothers Pawn Springdale" in
Springdale, AR, United States. Price: $1,100 + $150 shipping. https://reverb.com/item/39740038-mosrit ... s-mahogany
A0350: Stereo. Black or Forest Green. Pics saved. A seller called this finish "Forest Green." Owned by forum member GTSP (as noted in the second link below.) Photos saved from his Photobucket page. It looks Black instead of Green to me, but maybe it's just the lighting in Jayson's photos, since I vaguely remember this guitar being green. Serial # is according to Jayson. Thanks for sharing the number.
viewtopic.php?f=27&t=2630
viewtopic.php?p=32180#p32180
A0365, Stereo, Red Burst. Has M Knobs. Pics and pages saved. Once owned by Michael Marks; he sold it. http://home.insightbb.com/~marksma/wsb/ ... ip-15.html

Partial #s Section - 2:

A002x, Stereo, Natural Finish
http://www.mylespaul.com/threads/1970-m ... er.301797/
A03xx - Stereo, Brown Burst. Pics saved. Belonging to one Kenneth Ray West, and I can only tell a probable first digit, making it now known as a A03xx number.

Partsrite Section - 1:

No-Number "Super 350" Partsrite, Mono, Red - Pics and page saved, including 3 from the current owner. Has a 21 fret Sooner neck (originals are 22 fret,) and the neck appears to be Maple. It also doesn't have a solid rosewood fretboard. The headstock says "Super 350." Has one Volume Knob, and one Tone Knob. It has two unknown switches, near the Vol and Tone Knobs. It also has a Black Widow-sized pad on the back, which is on other instruments of Tony Hunt's. Currently owned by Pete Kenney.
https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/97 ... -with-case

If it's a Partsrite, if it was a more common guitar, I might not bother. But these 350s are so rare as it is, that I might as well.

Speculated # Section - 7 Guitars

Numbers in this section are as close as I could speculate, after looking at photos or by other speculation.

A0006, Stereo. "Light colored body wood." Seller gave number as "9000 V," which I think was likely read upside down by the eBay seller in 2004. This is not confirmed, though. First mentioned here, by moaimen: viewtopic.php?p=71576#p71576
A0038: Stereo, Natural, stock. Belongs to Tim Brennan. Can be seen at his Facebook post, here: https://www.facebook.com/Tymguitars/pos ... 0711924953
A0126 or A0128, Mono, Red. Was for sale on eBay on August 30, 2012 in the U.K. Photos have been saved.
A0134 or A0154: Mono, Red. Has a Moseley Vibrato. May be A0134, but I can't tell the one digit very well.
https://www.sheltonsguitars.com/2008/1- ... 08-08.html
A0x75 or A0275: Stereo, Brown Burst. I saved photos and the sales ad from "Emerald City Guitars" in Seattle, Washington. I can't see the A or the 0 in the one pic I can read. The next digit seems to be a 2, but I'm not sure. I can tell that the last two digits are 75, though.
A0291: Stereo, Brown Burst. It seems most likely to be A0291, judging from other Brown Burst guitars near this number and by how the 9 stamp appears on other guitars. This guitar has a Nut instead of its original String Guide. This is the guitar photographed on the side of this page, under the description for the 350 model:
https://reverb.com/p/mosrite-stereo-350-sunburst-1972
A0304: Stereo, "Bright" Sunburst (compared to the brown ones.) Appears to be A0304, but it's hard to tell. Knobs aren't the "M" type (but are possibly original.) Was apparently for sale from Detroit Guitar, since it's posted to their Pinterest page. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/552605816757739103/

Unknown #s - 13:

A0xxx: Stereo. Black. Owned by Lil' Jimmy Reed, and is customized; has "Lil' Reed" on the body and headstock. It may be somewhere over A0300, judging by the numbers of known Black 350s. Video from 2013: https://youtu.be/ZYc0CtwvItQ
A0xxx: Stereo, Brown. Was for sale on eBay on March 24, 2011. Photos have been saved.
A0xxx: Stereo, Dark Blue. Has M Knobs. Pic saved. Pic shared by Charley Johnson on Facebook. This is the third Blue 350 I've seen. I'm not sure if it's original, or refinished.
A0xxx: Stereo, Natural. Appears to still have a # on it in the pic, but I can't tell what it is. Doesn't have M Knobs. Pic saved. Body was heavily cut away to look more teardrop-ish. Found on Facebook, posted by Larry's Guitars. I think I can still see at least one number on it, but I can't quite tell what it is.
A0xxx: Stereo, Natural. Appears to be in the first 100, but I can't tell for sure if it's A0057, A0067, A0069 or A0075. Appeared in late 2020, from Jean-sebastien's saucisserie shop in Baie Des Sables, Canada.: https://reverb.com/item/37253942-mosrit ... -week-deal
A0xxx: Stereo, Natural. It's a late model, since it has the cheaper knobs on it. Showed up in a video on Facebook, from Brian Edwards. https://www.facebook.com/brian.edwards. ... 6626059188
A0xxx: Stereo, Brown Burst.. Pic saved. I found the photo on Pinterest, and followed the link; it was down. I found the original ad in the Wayback Machine, but most of the photos weren't saved. Tym Brennan's Unknown # 350s;
A0xxx: Mono, Natural. Has a Mosrite Single Coil in the bridge.
A0xxx: Mono, Dark Sunburst. Has a Maple Ventures neck, a Mosrite single coil in the neck position, and a Mosrite stop-tailpiece screwed into a Moseley Vibrato Base Plate. I question why the baseplate's installed.

All of Tym's 350s (including the other 2 that are accounted for) can be seen here:
https://tymguitars.com.au/blogs/blog/15 ... srite-350s

May not have a # anymore - 2:

A0xxx: Stereo, Natural. Pics saved. Doesn't have M Knobs. Has a Bigsby and a Tune O Matic, and was refretted twice (so it may no longer have a number.) Pups were re-wound, too. Found on Facebook, posted by William R. Crabtree.
A0xxx: Stereo, Natural (or slightly more brown.) May have lost its # in a Refret (judging from photos) though I'm not certain if it did lose the #. Formerly owned by Will Speer (Will S on the forum) and was played in a 2007/2008 video from Rockongoodpeople. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1942&p=19381#p19381

350 Models - Total of 91 (58 with Known #s, 9 with speculated #s, 3 unknowns may be without #s: )

20 Basses:

10 Known # 350 Basses,
1 No Number 350 Bass (May not have been stamped, or may have been lost in a re-fret.)
2 Speculated # 350 Basses,
7 Unknown 350 Basses

71 Guitars:

48 Known # Guitars - 11 or 12 Mono, 38 or 39 Stereo.
2 350 Guitars with a partial #,
7 350 Guitars with speculated #s (one Mono,)
1 Guitar that's a Partsrite,
13 Unknown 350 Guitars (2 may not have their #s anymore, but this is not confirmed by the owner.)

--------------

Finishes Accounted For:

Black - Shows up late in the model run. (Earliest known guitar is A0237, though I wonder if it's really 337, and the earliest bass is AB117 - which happens to currently be the highest # for a Stereo 350 Bass.)
Blue - 3 accounted for.
Brown.
Brown Burst.
Natural - This is the most common finish seen. About the first 60 seem to be Natural, though without each one individually accounted for, I can't say that for certain.
Red.
Red, Translucent. (A0065.)
Red Burst.
Sunburst - 1 accounted for, though it may not be an original finish. The guitar is a speculated (but highly likely to be) A0304.
Yellow - 2 accounted for. (1 mystery bass, and Guitar A0345.) Perhaps these are the only 2, and they were ordered at the same time.
White - 1 mystery # bass accounted for.

Also, Guitar A0350 was once described as "Forest Green," in the ad where forum member "GTSP" bought it. I'm not sure if it's really a Dark Green, or a Black finish.

A0266 seems to be a Translucent Brown or Translucent Butterscotch color, strangely enough.

I feel confident that the Black, Brown, Brown Burst, Red, and Red Burst instruments are all original finishes. The Yellow ones might also be original, since I've found two of them that look nearly the same.

I'm not so sure about the originality of the Blue ones, the Green/Black one, or the White one. If I had better pics of the Unknown # Blue one, I could more easily tell.

Re: Mosrite 300 and 350 Serial Numbers? (Guitar and Bass)

Postby 101Volts » Tue Oct 19, 2021 7:08 pm

Latest Updates:

20 October 2021:

Minor updates to the Color Section.

A0237 had a note added.

Also, more updats to the Model Trivia section.

It seems like more 300 Basses exist than 300 Guitars,

Guitars - 4:

K0005: Natural. Has 1 Stock Neck Pup. Pic saved. Also has initials, "E.W.," beneath the serial number. Owned by Alan Manoian, who also owns 350 Guitar A0150. http://www.mosriteforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=357
K0006: Natural. Owned by forum member mosriteforever. Mentioned at the same link as K0005, above.

AB0036: Stereo, Blue. Photos and page saved. Has a Maple neck. Ad says the body's made of Alder. This finish may be original, since it looks old, and it looks like it aged like other 350s.

A0207, ? (probably stereo,) Natural. I posted it years ago:
viewtopic.php?f=27&t=6115
A0217: Stereo, Natural. Was on eBay in June, 2010.
A0223: Stereo, Natural. Doesn't have "M" Knobs. Listed on Reverb by Mike and Mikes Guitar Bar on October 5, 2019. Neck Humbucker says 10 - 8 - 73.

A0232: Stereo, Natural - Ended on eBay October 13 2018.
A0237, Stereo, Black. I posted it at the forum in February 2014, and now I wonder if it's really A0337 (Pics have not been saved.)
viewtopic.php?f=27&t=6119

A0266 - Stereo, Odd Finish; either Translucent Brown, or some sort of Translucent Butterscotch color. Showed up on Reverb on 2021 - June - 29. https://reverb.com/item/41559486-mosrit ... 1973-brown

Speculated # Section - 7:

Showed up in a video on Facebook, from Brian Edwards. https://www.facebook.com/brian.edwards. ... 6626059188
A0xxx: Stereo, Brown Burst.. Pic saved. I found the photo on Pinterest, and followed the link; it was down. I found the original ad in the Wayback Machine, but most of the photos weren't saved. Tym Brennan's Unknown # 350s;

--------------

101 instruments are listed (or fewer, due to the unknown and speculation sections.)

300 Models - Total of 10 (9 with Known #s: )

5 Known # 300 Basses,

4 Known # 300 Guitars,
1 Speculated # 300 Guitar.

Brown, Translucent or Butterscotch, Translucent (A0266.)
(1 Mystery Bass [Later in the run,] and Guitar A0345 [Also late in the run.]) Perhaps these are the only 2, and they were ordered at the same time?
White - 1 mystery # Bass accounted for.

Also, Guitar A0350 was once described as "Forest Green," in the ad where forum member "GTSP" bought it. I'm not sure if it's really a Dark Green, or a Black finish.

Postby 101Volts » Sun Jan 02, 2022 4:16 pm

==============
Latest Updates:
==============

2 Jan 2022:

1: Added equal signs to make the list more organized.

2: I decided to keep posting a photo of a 350 in each reply for Facebook replies, in case Facebook doesn't pick up on the photo in a less direct link.

3: Simplified a few list names.

4: Changed minor things, such as spacing.

5: Linked to a post for the owner of the 350 Bass with no #.

20 October 2021:

Minor updates to the Color Section.

A0237 had a note added.

Also, more updats to the Model Trivia section.

========
Legend:
========

============

It seems like more 300 Basses exist than 300 Guitars,

AB0xxx: Stereo, Black, owned by forum member HiFiHellcat. May or may not be the second instrument described just below this listing. Photos were not provided.

AB0xxx: Stereo, Black. Pic and page saved. Owned by The Gear Page member nmiller.
ABxxxx: - Stereo, Brown. showed up on eBay Australia in March 2010.

No-Number "Super 350" Partsrite, Mono, Red - Pics and page saved, including 3 from the current owner. Has a 21 fret Sooner neck (originals are 22 fret,) and the neck appears to be Maple. It also doesn't have a solid rosewood fretboard. The headstock says "Super 350." Has one Volume Knob, and one Tone Knob. It has two unknown switches, near the Vol and Tone Knobs. It also has a Black Widow-sized pad on the back, which is on other instruments of Tony Hunt's. Currently owned by Pete Kenney.

If it's a Partsrite, if it was a more common guitar, I might not bother. But these 350s are so rare as it is, that I might as well.

Speculated #s - 7:

08-08.html
A0275: Stereo, Brown Burst. I saved photos and the sales ad from "Emerald City Guitars" in Seattle, Washington. I can't see the A or the 0 in the one pic that I can read.

Showed up in a video on Facebook, from Brian Edwards. https://www.facebook.com/brian.edwards. ... 6626059188
A0xxx: Stereo, Brown Burst.. Pic saved. I found the photo on Pinterest, and followed the link; it was down. I found the original ad in the Wayback Machine, but most of the photos weren't saved. Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/545568942334698760/ Wayback Machine: http://web.archive.org/web/201202200323 ... o-350.html
A0xxx: Mono, Red. Was for sale on eBay on August 30, 2012 in the U.K. Photos have been saved.
A0xxx: ???, ???, Brown Burst. Owned by (or formerly owned by) Forum Member Jon Fine (jfine.) Intro Post: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2182&hilit=350 Mention of Finish: viewtopic.php?p=61035#p61035
A0xxx, Mono, ???, Owned by (or formerly owned by) Forum Member "Lespete456." viewtopic.php?f=4&t=5922&hilit=350

Tym Brennan's Unknown # 350s;

Total Instruments Listed:
=======================

101 Instruments Total (or fewer, due to the unknown & speculation sections.)

5 Known # 300 Basses,

4 Known # 300 Guitars,
1 Speculated # 300 Guitar.

20 Basses:

10 Known # 350 Basses,
1 No Number 350 Bass (May not have been stamped, or may have been lost in a re-fret.)
2 Speculated # 350 Basses,
7 Unknown 350 Basses

71 Guitars:

48 Known # Guitars - 11 or 12 Mono, 38 or 39 Stereo.
2 350 Guitars with a partial #,
7 350 Guitars with speculated #s (one Mono,)
1 Guitar that's a Partsrite,
13 Unknown 350 Guitars (2 may not have their #s anymore, but this is not confirmed by the owner.)

======================
Finishes Accounted For:
======================

Brown, Translucent or Butterscotch, Translucent (A0266.)

==============
Latest Updates:
==============

13 Jan 2022:

Unknown, heavily cut-up model moved from Unknown to Known section; it is A0057.

========
Legend:
========

============

It seems like more 300 Basses exist than 300 Guitars,

A0365, Stereo, Red Burst. Has M Knobs. Pics and pages saved. Once owned by Michael Marks; he sold it. http://home.insightbb.com/~marksma/wsb/ ... ip-15.html

Partial #s - 2:

A002x, Stereo, Natural Finish
http://www.mylespaul.com/threads/1970-m ... er.301797/
A03xx - Stereo, Brown Burst. Pics saved. Belonging to one Kenneth Ray West, and I can only tell a probable first digit, making it now known as a A03xx number.

Partsrites - 1:

Speculated #s - 7:

08-08.html
A0275: Stereo, Brown Burst. I saved photos and the sales ad from "Emerald City Guitars" in Seattle, Washington. I can't see the A or the 0 in the one pic that I can read.

Unknown #s - 12:

Appears to be in the first 100, but I can't tell for sure if it's A0067, A0069 or A0075. Appeared in late 2020, from Jean-sebastien's saucisserie shop in Baie Des Sables, Canada. Update, 14 Jan 2022: it's not A0057, that's accounted for. https://reverb.com/item/37253942-mosrit ... -week-deal
A0xxx: Stereo, Natural. It's a late model, since it has the cheaper knobs on it. Showed up in a video on Facebook, from Brian Edwards. https://www.facebook.com/brian.edwards. ...

Tym Brennan's Unknown # 350s;

Total Instruments Listed:
=======================

101 Instruments Total (or fewer, due to the unknown & speculation sections.)

300 Models - Total of 10 (9 with Known #s: )

5 Known # 300 Basses,

4 Known # 300 Guitars,
1 Speculated # 300 Guitar.

350 Models - Total of 91 (58 with Known #s, 9 with speculated #s, 3 unknowns may be without #s: )

20 Basses:

10 Known # 350 Basses,
1 No Number 350 Bass (May not have been stamped, or may have been lost in a re-fret.)
2 Speculated # 350 Basses,
7 Unknown 350 Basses

71 Guitars:

49 Known # Guitars - 11 or 12 Mono, 38 or 39 Stereo.
2 350 Guitars with a partial #,
7 350 Guitars with speculated #s (one Mono,)
1 Guitar that's a Partsrite,
12 Unknown 350 Guitars (2 may not have their #s anymore, but this is not confirmed by the owner.)

======================
Finishes Accounted For:
======================

Brown, Translucent or Butterscotch, Translucent (A0266.)

==============
Latest Updates:
==============

14 Jan 2022:

Minor update to Nate Gibson's A0344 guitar; it has a Maple Neck. (Reference found here: viewtopic.php?p=14302#p14302 )

13 Jan 2022:

Unknown, heavily cut-up model moved from Unknown to Known section; it is A0057.

========
Legend:
========

============

It seems like more 300 Basses exist than 300 Guitars,

AB0036: Stereo, Blue. Photos and page saved. Has a Maple neck. Ad says the body's made of Alder. This finish may be original, since it looks old, and it looks like it aged like other 350s. Speculated #s - 2:

AB0xxx: Stereo, Black. Pic and page saved. Owned by The Gear Page member nmiller.

A0144: Mono, Brown Burst. Pics and page saved. Showed up on Reverb from Olivia's Vintage, in Illinois. https://reverb.com/item/2445754-1971-mo ... lnut-burst
A0165, Mono, Natural. Owned by (or formerly owned by) Forum member "smitbust." viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2476&hilit=350

AO202: Stereo, Brown Burst. First mentioned here, by moaimen: viewtopic.php?p=71576#p71576 Feb 6, 2021: Showed up for sale from Tony Hunt's Collection. Pics and Page of the 2021 Auction saved. https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/97 ... ie-moseley
A0207, ? (probably stereo,) Natural. I posted it years ago:
viewtopic.php?f=27&t=6115
A0217: Stereo, Natural. Was on eBay in June, 2010.
A0223: Stereo, Natural. Doesn't have "M" Knobs. Listed on Reverb by Mike and Mikes Guitar Bar on October 5, 2019. Neck Humbucker says 10 - 8 - 73.
https://reverb.com/item/28494243-1973-m ... ckers-case
A0227: Stereo, Natural. Doesn't have Mosrite "M" Knobs. Listing ended in April 2012. Number is according to auction description. https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/11 ... solid-body
A0232: Stereo, Natural - Ended on eBay October 13 2018.
A0237, Stereo, Black. I posted it at the forum in February 2014, and now I wonder if it's really A0337 (Pics have not been saved.)
viewtopic.php?f=27&t=6119
A0238 - Stereo, Natural. Has M Knobs. Once owned by Michael Marks; I'm not sure if he still owns it. http://home.insightbb.com/~marksma/wsb/ ... ip-15.html
1973-brown

Pics saved. Has a Maple Neck, unusually. I tried, and I was then able to make out the numbers as being "A0?44:" --- https://eastwoodcustoms.com/projects/mosrite-350/ --- Also, here's the thread where Nate found it on Craigslist, and Adam mentioned that it has a maple neck here: viewtopic.php?p=14302#p14302

A0365, Stereo, Red Burst. Has M Knobs. Pics and pages saved. Once owned by Michael Marks; he sold it. http://home.insightbb.com/~marksma/wsb/ ... ip-15.html

Partial #s - 2:

A002x, Stereo, Natural Finish
http://www.mylespaul.com/threads/1970-m ... er.301797/
A03xx - Stereo, Brown Burst. Pics saved. Belonging to one Kenneth Ray West, and I can only tell a probable first digit, making it now known as a A03xx number.

Partsrites - 1:

Speculated #s - 7:

08-08.html
A0275: Stereo, Brown Burst. I saved photos and the sales ad from "Emerald City Guitars" in Seattle, Washington. I can't see the A or the 0 in the one pic that I can read.

Unknown #s - 12:

Showed up in a video on Facebook, from Brian Edwards. https://www.facebook.com/brian.edwards. ... 6626059188
A0xxx: Stereo, Brown Burst.. Pic saved. I found the photo on Pinterest, and followed the link; it was down. I found the original ad in the Wayback Machine, but most of the photos weren't saved.

Tym Brennan's Unknown # 350s;

Total Instruments Listed:
=======================

101 Instruments Total (or fewer, due to the unknown & speculation sections.)

5 Known # 300 Basses,

4 Known # 300 Guitars,
1 Speculated # 300 Guitar.

350 Models - Total of 91 (58 with Known #s, 9 with speculated #s, 3 unknowns may be without #s: )

20 Basses:

10 Known # 350 Basses,
1 No Number 350 Bass (May not have been stamped, or may have been lost in a re-fret.)
2 Speculated # 350 Basses,
7 Unknown 350 Basses

71 Guitars:

49 Known # Guitars - 11 or 12 Mono, 38 or 39 Stereo.
2 350 Guitars with a partial #,
7 350 Guitars with speculated #s (one Mono,)
1 Guitar that's a Partsrite,
12 Unknown 350 Guitars (2 may not have their #s anymore, but this is not confirmed by the owner.)

======================
Finishes Accounted For:
======================

Brown, Translucent or Butterscotch, Translucent (A0266.)

==============
Latest Updates:
==============

1 May 2022:

Correction of "A0349" made, it's actually A0343.

Also added actual reference to A0349, which is Black and has Non-M Knobs on it.

14 Jan 2022:

Minor update to Nate Gibson's A0344 guitar; it has a Maple Neck. (Reference found here: viewtopic.php?p=14302#p14302 )

13 Jan 2022:

Unknown, heavily cut-up model moved from Unknown to Known section; it is A0057.

========
Legend:
========

============

It seems like more 300 Basses exist than 300 Guitars,

Speculated # Section - 1 Guitar:

It has been drilled to have a Bridge Pickup, too. It has a Bill Lawrence pup in the Bridge, a Seymour Duncan P90 in the neck, and an extra knob. Owned by forum member "rtdreep," who has owned it since 1978 (roughly speaking.) He does have the stock pickup, though. The guitar was mentioned in the forum, here: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=7994

AB0xxx: Stereo, Black (link no longer works, and was not saved at Wayback. Link saved just in the rare case someone might talk about it here.) May or may not be the instrument just above.

Shown in this Youtube video from user "Rusted Vacuum," but the bass was not played in the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ISR68ErQ_L8 UPDATE, 2021 - June - 5: Found 1 photo of the same bass, and saved it.

https://reverb.com/item/27388153-mosrite-stereo-350
A0057: Stereo, Natural. - Update, 13 Jan 2022: Found more photos of this one, and saved them. A0117, Stereo, Natural; Showed up on eBay in July 2018 for $1890. VG+ condition or better except there's a mark next to a screw on the neck plate. Auction said it was a 1973 model and there were a few mis-drilled screw holes under the pickguard.

Neck Humbucker says 10 - 8 - 73.
https://reverb.com/item/28494243-1973-m ... ckers-case
A0227: Stereo, Natural. Doesn't have Mosrite "M" Knobs. Listing ended in April 2012. Number is according to auction description. https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/11 ... solid-body
A0232: Stereo, Natural - Ended on eBay October 13 2018.
A0237, Stereo, Black. I posted it at the forum in February 2014, and now I wonder if it's really A0337 (Pics have not been saved.)
viewtopic.php?f=27&t=6119
A0238 - Stereo, Natural. Has M Knobs. Once owned by Michael Marks; I'm not sure if he still owns it. http://home.insightbb.com/~marksma/wsb/ ... ip-15.html
Pics saved. Has a Maple Neck, unusually.
A0345, Stereo, Yellow. Pics and page saved. Knobs are teardrop shaped. Listed on Reverb by Poway Jewelry and Loanon September 20, 2019. https://reverb.com/item/28163955-vintag ... ric-guitar
A0343: Stereo. Natural. Knobs are Plastic, probably original. Sold by "Big Brothers Pawn Springdale" in
Springdale, AR, United States. Price: $1,100 + $150 shipping. https://reverb.com/item/39740038-mosrit ... s-mahogany
A0349: ???? - b]Black.[/b] Does not have M knobs. I was asked about it in comments here at one of Tym's Facebook Pages: https://www.facebook.com/Tymguitars/pos ... 6034397064
Once owned by Michael Marks; he sold it. http://home.insightbb.com/~marksma/wsb/ ... ip-15.html

Partial #s - 2:

A002x, Stereo, Natural Finish
http://www.mylespaul.com/threads/1970-m ... er.301797/
A03xx - Stereo, Brown Burst. Pics saved. Belonging to one Kenneth Ray West, and I can only tell a probable first digit, making it now known as a A03xx number.

Partsrites - 1:

Speculated #s - 7:

08-08.html
A0275: Stereo, Brown Burst. I saved photos and the sales ad from "Emerald City Guitars" in Seattle, Washington. I can't see the A or the 0 in the one pic that I can read.

Unknown #s - 12:

Showed up in a video on Facebook, from Brian Edwards. https://www.facebook.com/brian.edwards. ...

Tym Brennan's Unknown # 350s;

7 350 Guitars with speculated #s (one Mono,)

12 Unknown 350 Guitars (2 may not have their #s anymore, but this is not confirmed by the owner.)

======================
Finishes Accounted For:
======================

Brown, Translucent or Butterscotch, Translucent (A0266.)

Latest Updates:
==============

22 May 2022:

Update to A110; it doesn't have a Bigsby on it anymore, the Pots were replaced, and a switch has been placed in it where there should be the Stereo freture, but where there was no switch before; this makes me wonder whether this guitar was Stereo or Mono from the factory, and it just got a new pickguard later. Original M Knobs are now missing, replaced with something else.

Also, I heard mention of A0111; it's supposed to be a Mono model in a Burgundy color, according to the owner. However, I have no photo. The owner's facebook reply to me was removed.

1 May 2022:

Correction of "A0349" made, it's actually A0343.

Also added actual reference to A0349, which is Black and has Non-M Knobs on it.

========
Legend:
========

============

It seems like more 300 Basses exist than 300 Guitars,

K0006: Natural. Owned by forum member mosriteforever. Mentioned at the same link as K0005, above.

350 Basses:

Known #s - 10

AB0019: Stereo, Natural. Photos and eBay page saved. Was listed on eBay in Mid-May 2021. Here's a link to my Forum Post, where I also pasted the description: viewtopic.php?f=27&t=8073

A0110: Mono, Brown Burst; Bigsby Added. Pics and page saved. Was sold by Reverb seller "Shop" from Kalamazoo, Michigan. https://reverb.com/item/4340411-mosrite ... burst#full - Update, 2022 May 20: Guitar showed up for sale again, with the Bigsby removed and Potentiometers replaced. Original Knobs were replaced, originals not included. Also, someone added a switch to it where the Stereo switch should be, but now that I see it, the guitar didn't have a switch on it in 2020. Was it originally a Stereo instrument, and is this pickguard not original? https://reverb.com/item/55272345-1972-m ... shell-case
A0111, Mono, Burgundy; This is according to the owner who posted on Facebook, but the post was then removed.
A0117, Stereo, Natural; Showed up on eBay in July 2018 for $1890. VG+ condition or better except there's a mark next to a screw on the neck plate. Auction said it was a 1973 model and there were a few mis-drilled screw holes under the pickguard.

A0227: Stereo, Natural. Doesn't have Mosrite "M" Knobs. Listing ended in April 2012. Number is according to auction description. https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/11 ... solid-body
A0232: Stereo, Natural - Ended on eBay October 13 2018.
A0237, Stereo, Black. I posted it at the forum in February 2014, and now I wonder if it's really A0337 (Pics have not been saved.)
viewtopic.php?f=27&t=6119
A0238 - Stereo, Natural. Has M Knobs. Once owned by Michael Marks; I'm not sure if he still owns it. http://home.insightbb.com/~marksma/wsb/ ... ip-15.html
1973-brown

Pics saved. Has a Maple Neck, unusually.
A0345, Stereo, Yellow. Pics and page saved. Knobs are teardrop shaped. Listed on Reverb by Poway Jewelry and Loanon September 20, 2019. https://reverb.com/item/28163955-vintag ... ric-guitar
A0343: Stereo. Natural. Knobs are Plastic, probably original. Sold by "Big Brothers Pawn Springdale" in
Springdale, AR, United States. Price: $1,100 + $150 shipping. https://reverb.com/item/39740038-mosrit ... s-mahogany
A0349: ???? - b]Black.[/b] Does not have M knobs. I was asked about it in comments here at one of Tym's Facebook Pages: https://www.facebook.com/Tymguitars/pos ... 6034397064

A0365, Stereo, Red Burst. Has M Knobs. Pics and pages saved. Once owned by Michael Marks; he sold it. http://home.insightbb.com/~marksma/wsb/ ... ip-15.html

Partial #s - 2:

A002x, Stereo, Natural Finish
http://www.mylespaul.com/threads/1970-m ... er.301797/
A03xx - Stereo, Brown Burst. Pics saved. Belonging to one Kenneth Ray West, and I can only tell a probable first digit, making it now known as a A03xx number.

Partsrites - 1:

Speculated #s - 7:

08-08.html
A0275: Stereo, Brown Burst. I saved photos and the sales ad from "Emerald City Guitars" in Seattle, Washington. I can't see the A or the 0 in the one pic that I can read.

Unknown #s - 12:

Showed up in a video on Facebook, from Brian Edwards. https://www.facebook.com/brian.edwards. ... 6626059188
A0xxx: Stereo, Brown Burst.. Pic saved. I found the photo on Pinterest, and followed the link; it was down. I found the original ad in the Wayback Machine, but most of the photos weren't saved.

Tym Brennan's Unknown # 350s;

Total Instruments Listed:
=======================

103 Instruments Total (or fewer, due to the unknown & speculation sections.)

300 Models - Total of 10 (9 with Known #s: )

5 Known # 300 Basses,

4 Known # 300 Guitars,
1 Speculated # 300 Guitar.

350 Models - Total of 93 (60 with Known #s, 9 with speculated #s, 3 unknowns may be without #s: )

20 Basses:

10 Known # 350 Basses,
1 No Number 350 Bass (May not have been stamped, or may have been lost in a re-fret.)
2 Speculated # 350 Basses,
7 Unknown 350 Basses

72 Guitars:

51 Known # Guitars - 12 or 13 Mono, 39 or 40 Stereo.
2 350 Guitars with a partial #,
7 350 Guitars with speculated #s (one Mono,)
1 Guitar that's a Partsrite,
12 Unknown 350 Guitars (2 may not have their #s anymore, but this is not confirmed by the owner.)

======================
Finishes Accounted For:
======================

Brown, Translucent or Butterscotch, Translucent (A0266.)
Burgundy. (A0111, color according to owner. I've seen no photos of it.)

Latest Updates:
==============

27 June 2022:

Small update to A0349 (Black.)

Also, I realized my accounted for numbers at the bottom was a bit out of order, so I deleted a few details and updated numbers.

============

It seems like more 300 Basses exist than 300 Guitars,

Known #s - 4:

K0005: Natural. Has 1 Stock Neck Pup. Pic saved. Also has initials, "E.W.," beneath the serial number. Owned by Alan Manoian, who also owns 350 Guitar A0150. http://www.mosriteforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=357

350 Basses:

Known #s - 10

AB0019: Stereo, Natural. Photos and eBay page saved. Was listed on eBay in Mid-May 2021. Here's a link to my Forum Post, where I also pasted the description: viewtopic.php?f=27&t=8073

A0057: Stereo, Natural. - Update, 13 Jan 2022: Found more photos of this one, and saved them.

A0165, Mono, Natural. Owned by (or formerly owned by) Forum member "smitbust." viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2476&hilit=350

A0207, ? (probably stereo,) Natural. I posted it years ago:
viewtopic.php?f=27&t=6115
A0217: Stereo, Natural. Was on eBay in June, 2010.
A0223: Stereo, Natural. Doesn't have "M" Knobs. Listed on Reverb by Mike and Mikes Guitar Bar on October 5, 2019. Neck Humbucker says 10 - 8 - 73.
https://reverb.com/item/28494243-1973-m ... ckers-case
A0227: Stereo, Natural. Doesn't have Mosrite "M" Knobs. Listing ended in April 2012. Number is according to auction description. https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/11 ... solid-body
A0232: Stereo, Natural - Ended on eBay October 13 2018.
A0237, Stereo, Black. I posted it at the forum in February 2014, and now I wonder if it's really A0337 (Pics have not been saved.)
viewtopic.php?f=27&t=6119
A0238 - Stereo, Natural. Has M Knobs. Once owned by Michael Marks; I'm not sure if he still owns it. http://home.insightbb.com/~marksma/wsb/ ... ip-15.html
1973-brown

https://reverb.com/item/12271768-mosrit ...
Pics saved. Has a Maple Neck, unusually.
A0345, Stereo, Yellow. Pics and page saved. Knobs are teardrop shaped. Listed on Reverb by Poway Jewelry and Loanon September 20, 2019. https://reverb.com/item/28163955-vintag ... ric-guitar
A0343: Stereo, Natural. Knobs are Plastic, probably original. Sold by "Big Brothers Pawn Springdale" in
Springdale, AR, United States. Price: $1,100 + $150 shipping. https://reverb.com/item/39740038-mosrit ... s-mahogany
A0349: Stereo, Black. Does not have M knobs. I was asked about it in comments here at one of Tym's Facebook Pages: https://www.facebook.com/Tymguitars/pos ... 6034397064 --- Update, June 27: The owner posted about it again, and posted photos. I saved the photos: https://www.facebook.com/groups/3294258 ... 272672064/
A0350: Stereo, Black or Forest Green.
Once owned by Michael Marks; he sold it. http://home.insightbb.com/~marksma/wsb/ ... ip-15.html

Partial #s - 2:

A002x, Stereo, Natural Finish
http://www.mylespaul.com/threads/1970-m ... er.301797/
A03xx - Stereo, Brown Burst. Pics saved. Belonging to one Kenneth Ray West, and I can only tell a probable first digit, making it now known as a A03xx number.

Partsrites - 1:

Speculated #s - 7:

08-08.html
A0275: Stereo, Brown Burst. I saved photos and the sales ad from "Emerald City Guitars" in Seattle, Washington. I can't see the A or the 0 in the one pic that I can read.

Unknown #s - 12:

-week-deal

A0xxx: Stereo, Brown Burst.. Pic saved. I found the photo on Pinterest, and followed the link; it was down. I found the original ad in the Wayback Machine, but most of the photos weren't saved.

Finishes Accounted For:
======================

Black - Shows up late in the model run. (Earliest known guitar is A0237, though I wonder if it's really 337, and the earliest bass is AB117 - which happens to currently be the highest # for a Stereo 350 Bass.)
Blue - 3 accounted for. May not be an original finish.
Brown.
Brown Burst.
Brown, Translucent or Butterscotch, Translucent (A0266.)
Burgundy. (A0111, color according to owner. I've seen no photos of it.)
