That is absolutely INCREDIBLE!! I had read that Semie was a good guitar player, but "good" falls rather short of the mark--he was killer! And I had no idea he was such a good singer. If he had chosen to go the secular route, he could have been a star--heck, he should have been been a big name in gospel! It's probably just as well that he wasn't--otherwise, he might not have left us with all those wonderful guitars! He definitely left us way too soon.

I have a VHS tape of that show in Japan, with Nokie & Semie. It was sent to me about 12 -15 yrs. ago, by Del Halterman. That gospel song was the last thing Semie did. Before that was a scene of him & Nokie in the airport, arriving at the show in a limousine, etc. He also did Walk Don't Run and a couple other songs with Nokie. He was an excellent guitarist. I had never seen the footage from his shop, though -that was fascinating. I need to get that tape on an MP3 so I can share it with you guys.

OMG, Tim, is this 'the 1991 Concert' where Semie is "Hand Cranking Nokie (like trying to start a Model T) and also where
there is a Japanese Drummer hammering on a White Single Pick-up Mo' Bass on "Caravan?"
As good ol' Hoss (TV Series 'Bonanza') would say: Dad Burn It!!! NOW, I gotta go look for another VHS Tape  ........ ;) .
make the Mos' of it, choose the 'rite stuff.

That's the one. It's called: "Nokie Edwards & Semie Moseley -Joint Live in Tokyo (1991)" It even has Loretta & Judy on it. The band is all Japanese guys playing Mosrites. It has some really terrible Japanese singers on a few vocals, & the Japanese go go dancers are hilarious. Nokie plays a blue sparkle "nokie model" throughout the whole show. If anyone has a way to make MP3's out of VHS tapes, let me know -I can make you a copy of the tape. I also have tapes of '93 & '94 Ventures Japanese concert tours, and the "Beloved Invaders" movie.

Thanks Tim,
I actually have the 1991 Calendar ("Nokie Edwards & Semie Moseley -Joint Live in Tokyo (1991)" with Nokie and Semie pictured that Loretta actually had mailed to me.
And yes , Nokie is pictured with 'the Nokie Model' with the Blue Sparkle finish with the smooth covered pick-ups (no pole pieces), and Semie is pictured in the upper
right hand corner with a Sunburst with the White pick-ups and rings as well.......

I should have done this a long time ago, Here's a link to the Youtuber's profile who uploaded the video in the first place.

All of you that are fortunate enough to have VHS tapes, Roxio has a kit of software and a USB to video/audio adapter called Easy VHS to DVD for $59.95. All you do is plug you VCR into the adapter and plug the adapter into a USB port. Call up the software, turn on your VCR to playback and click record in the software. The program will convert to digital audio/video and you can burn it to DVD.
http://www.roxio.com/enu/store/cddvdbur ... m_sto_shop is the link to their store. The parent company Sonic Solutions is in California. This is the link to the product,
http://www.roxio.com/enu/products/easy- ... ro_easyvhs . I know this forum is not about commercial endorcements, but this is one product that will help share more of Semie with the forum members and maybe the world.

That is most helpful Roger D. I have a few VHS tapes (unfortunately not of Mosrite or Semie :( ) that I'd like to convert someday and the Roxio kit seems to be the answer for me. Thanks!

That is a gem of a video. Had no idea Semie was such a good player, but you knew he had to be a really personable guy. Loved the 3 Japanese girls in the polka dot dresses.
