A friend of mine said he heard that Mosrite made two different bridge covers for their basses. One for the one pickup model and one for the 2 pickup models. I've never heard anything like that before. Is there any truth to this notion?

Well, I can't recall hearing anything of that nature, however I have seen some early 1 pickup Basses, in which a small piece of the pickguard was cut into to make the Bridge Cover fit correctly.
