The newest member of my family.....A Stereo 350

Seems like Sarah and I have something in common, I also just won an auction on ebay for the Stereo 350 model. I got the guitar 2 days ago from fed ex, and been lovin life.
All solid Mahogany body and neck, classic 70's neck, but the frets are BIG. like a 70's les paul wide but still low like a speed fret.
the serial number reads A0038 (low number!) and the pot codes reads sept 72 (if I'm reading them right).
the only thing is I'm not 100% sure what the 2 way switch does, cuz it doesn't seem to do anything for me. I thought it was suppose to put the guitar to mono to stereo, but I haven't taken enough time to examine the electronics yet.
Another neat thing about this guitar is it doesn't have any German curves on it, just a slab body.
a couple things I'm missing though. an american mosrite switch tip (there's a rico version on it now) and more importantly a mosrite case. Anybody know where I can find me a stereo 350 case? doesn't need to be perfect, i just need to protect the guitar if I take it to jam some day.
I'll post pics for you guys soon, trying to remember where I misplaced my camera...

Congrats! An awful lot of those early '70s Mosrites came with black plastic switch tips. If that's what's on there I wouldn't touch it.

thanks guys, dorkrock, you seem to be the premier expert on this forum on the brass rails, do u have any mono or stereo models? I'm trying to figure out how to get the two switch to work, but i don't want to dive into the electronics and start resoldering everything or screw anything up. you know what i mean?
the cool thing is with the mahogany body, the guitar sounds like a hybrid of a les paul and a mosrite, very different from my ventures style models :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
but A LOT more responsive to surf sounding guitar work then i thought it would, even though there's no tremolo.

Congrats Aaron on your new Mo.'
The 2 way slide switch is supposed to switch from Stereo to Mono mode if you are using only one Amp.
Just make sure that you are plugged into the 'correct output jack.' If you still do not hear any kind of a
difference, possibly the 2 way switch might be dirty and needs a good cleaning (it is almost 40 yrs old!) ;)

well I found out that the mono stereo switch works, but the toggle switch is starting to go. not surprising, that's a little typical of any old switch craft toggle in my experience. if I can't save it, I'm gonna have to replace it. I'll be posting my guitar surgery pics soon heh ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

beautiful ribbon mahogany on this baby. very beefy tone.

I thought this was goofy. the pickup pole piece screw heads sat above the pickup cover. on my V2 models the holes and bigger to allow the whole screw head to set level with the pickup cover, but these do not.

something Semie should get credit for. check out the recessed neck joint. this makes it a lot easier to solo on the higher frets. I've seen this on other guitars, but never any of this vintage. possibly another guitar intervention from Semie.
Image

notice the width of the neck....not like thoses 60's Mosrites...
Image

big wide frets like a gibson, but still a very low action
