Ventures II
'64--used to be Pearlwhite. Not pictured is a later '64/65 vibramute sunburst, which I lent to a friend. That one is prettier, but this one is the better player.

Re: Beatnikbandit's collection
Wow, great collection! So, what's the story on the first guitar? Do you know what that model is officially called? Is it "V3" or something else? That's what my parts-rite is supposed to be, I wish it looked as nice as yours!

Not a bad looking family you have there. Is the Brass Rail candy apple red all over or just on the body? And that '63 deserves its own thread!

Re: Beatnikbandit's collection
Excellent BBandit. I would really like to play a V3/VIII one day. Apparently there is a rumor that there should be a good batch of these floating around in Sweden as Semie had a swedish employee at one point during the 80s and he was paid of in guitars when business was bad......I have no clue wether this is true or not but heard it from a guitar dealer that knows a lot about vintage guitars that moves around in the Scandinavian 'vintage circles'.
Your Ventures II and V pics also clearly shows the differences between the two guitars. There was a discussion about this recently.
How do you find the sound of these two when A/B'ed?

Six ooh’s and six aah’s!!!!!! *
…and I reckon one for the Roland Space Echo (RE-150 ?) too
This has been a real treat Beatnikbandit, thanks for sharing it with us.
(whisper)....now I shall try to seek some comfort from my Hallmark 60 Custom Sunburst.
*(actually, the sixth "ooh" and "aah" should really be a long stretched out "sighhhhhhhhh"
