There were several different Joe Maphis model guitars. Can you provide a photo or better description regarding the one you are questioning?

GTSP,
They all had truss rods. This particular Maphis is a very early Model judging by the full piece
Vibrato unit. The truss rod adjustment is located down near the neck p'up, in which you will
have to remove the neck p'up to have access to the truss rod.

The serial # on this checks out on Tyms sight as being a Joe Maphis. I just read on a posting in the Craigslist section that someone was suspicious of a JM model b/c of no TR cover.

This guitar makes #5 in the Mosrite stock pile. 3 vintage, 2 modern.

this is why i prefer the 66 mosrites and later production models, because the truss rod adjustment was moved to the headstock. to adjust my ramones mosrite I have to take off the neck to adjust it. it's a major pain......

Congrats!! How do like it so far? I'm still trying to negotiate on an early full-trem JM here myself. It does have a truss rod cover. Your JM looks in good shape. Is it all original still?

....and does it hum? The one I'm checking out has that 'classic P90'ish' hum going on and the pups are hot. Anyone knows how much those Mosrite pups from '66-'67 measures out?
