Elaine Frizzell's 1984 Doubleneck

I didn't want to hijack the Doug Brewer thread with the magnificent Semie Mosely doubleneck,
but did want to post a few photos of Elaine Frizzell's (Garton in the neck from previous marriage)
masterpiece doubleneck that Semie made or should I say finished in 1984. (Started in 1981 or 82).
Not sure how many of you have ever seen it before. She doesn't bring it out very often.

The occasion was the CAAS (Chet Atkins Appreciation Society) convention in Nashville 2008

I do believe that this is Semie's grandest guitar ever! It has all the "stuff". It is a close recreation of the
guitar seen on the cover of the first Joe Maphis Gospel Guitar album or there about.

PS: The little neck in the showcase in the first picture is the original octave neck
from Joe Maphis' first guitar.

Outstanding! Between this and Doug's guitar, my brain is about to explode!

What is the wooden piece behind the lower neck tailpiece-tremolo? Sort of reminds me of a violin. Is it purely decorative or does it serve a purpose?

It's very impressive and artistic the way Semie uses pickguard material to accent the guitar. Not only around the sidejack but also the strap buttons and on top of the vibrato. Great photos, Terry.

The finish on that guitar is remarkable.

I'm with Trent here...just feast your eyes on all the detail -like those DOUBLE skunk stripes for example. Notice that Semie had installed the regular type nut (a special one though!) used on most guitars and not the so familiar Mosrite zero fret with string guide. It may have to do with the custom request perhaps.
Good that you posted this fine instrument and piece of art and guitar history Terry, we can now always go back to look at it whenever we feel like doing so. And that goes for Doug Brewer's guitar as well. Hey, it's all Mosrite stuff here anyway...nuffin' ta do wid hijackin' :D

Thanks for the treat Terry!

[edit] interesting detail is the unhyphenated spelling of Semie's brand: "MOS RITE".
