If that is a refinish, it was done long ago by someone who knew how to do it right.
That is a lovely guitar.

I was wondering if it might be a refin. It sure looks good! And, yes I'm thinking about adding another, although I'd rather the next Celebrity be a 12 string.

If it's a great deal I won't pass it up though.

This was a color that Mosrite used in the late 60's. I have seen Mark 1's as well as Mark 5's (both non Ventures) in this color. It is a burgundy but the strange thing is every one I have ever seen in this color has those same blotch patterns in the finish when you look closely. I would think it was an amature re-fin but it was direct from the factory. This is an original and rare and blotchy finish.

I have a combo that same color...sort of burgundy wine.
I'm not sure the year but I want to say a 67.

Unfortunately, it isn't mine. I found that on a website of a local dealer & called right away; that was a Monday. It was sold the previous Saturday
