How often do you view Guitar Center Vtg. Mosrites?

Postby khai123 » Mon Jun 18, 2012 7:59 pm

Because, I've been looking and from what I've seen here, they have some pretty stellar examples for what seem to me, rather reasonable pricing. A Mark II (German Carve, so V?) for $1,500, 3 Celebrities all for under $1,300, and my favorite; a rather trashed 1966 Mark I w/ The Ventures Logo very much intact for $2,200 (a tad high). Anyways, maybe you guys could school me on whether or not my ideas of Vtg. prices aren't right.

Sometimes they do have decent prices. I can't list them all here since I'm not well-versed with the Ventures I models but IMHO, The blue 1966 Ventures II (Version 3) is set at a decent price; The 70s Stereo 350 Bass seems to be at an OK price and the 1966 Joe Maphis guitar in Seattle seems to be a bit high ($500 too high, IMHO).

The red one listed at the Hollywood store is a Fillmore - not an original Mosrite - and the price is $2k - that's waaay too much for that one.

Yeah I noticed that too GattonFan, the square neckplate. I think the staff there probably don't know the idea of the exact Japanese copies, from first glance with not much expierience, it looks like a well... vintage Mosrite. But the Celebrity for $850! That's a steal to me. One of the Celeb's is in Visalia which isn't that far away, hmm ;)
