Re: Mosrite 300 and 350 Serial Numbers? (Guitar and Bass)

Postby 101Volts » Sat Feb 13, 2021 11:04 am

Update for February 13, 2021:

One unknown 350 Stereo Bass added. I'm surprised I forgot about this one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ISR68ErQ_L8

I've also updated the Legend.

Previous Update for February 6, 2021 (edit made to AO202, for clarity: )

Two 350s surfaced from the same place, an Estate Auction of Tony Hunt's Guitars.

No-Number Partsrite, Mono, Red - Has a Sooner neck, and it says "Super 350" on the headstock. Has one volume and one tone knob. It also has two unknown switches, near the Vol and Tone knobs. https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/97 ... -with-case
A0202, (Stereo, Brown Burst) showed up (it was already on the list, but without photos.) It was previously marked as "Sunburst" in the serial numbers list. https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/97 ... ie-moseley

Legend:

An instrument new to the list (or moved from an Unknown section) as of the day the list is updated, whether the instrument has a number or not, will have Bold and Underscored Text at its number (or "unknown number") to stand out (examples: A0100 and A0xxx [Unknown 350 Guitar Example.]) When one of these marks is new, I'll also keep it in bold underscored text in the following update, but I'll remove the marks in the update after that.

Font Colors are not set for each instrument yet. Black instruments will be in bold text. The colors are to give a general idea of the instrument's finish, at a glance; there are multiple kinds of Red and Brown finishes. (Red, Red Burst, etc.) However, I'm not using Yellow Fonts for the 2 instruments in Yellow (A0345 and an unknown Bass,) since they may blend in too much with the background. I won't use White Text for White instruments, either.

350 Models:

Basses:

Known #s - 8

AB0036: Stereo, Blue. Photos and page saved. Has a Maple neck. Ad says the body's made of Alder. This finish may be original, since it looks old, and it looks like it aged like other 350s. This is the second Blue 350 I've seen; A0148 (a Guitar) is also blue. https://reverb.com/item/34060236-mosrit ... blue-1970s Photos from 2016, before this instrument was for sale on Reverb, show this instrument without a Mosrite logo. Partial #s - 1:

?B?032: Stereo, Red. - Was on eBay in March 2010, for sale by seller "waitebt." This is likely to be AB0032, but I can't make out the A, or the first digit.

No # - 1:

No Number: Mono, Natural. Pics and page saved. Oddly, it has Single Coils and 3 M Knobs. Has Grover tuners.
https://reverb.com/item/6616165-mosrite-mono-350'

ABxxxx: - Stereo, Brown. showed up on eBay Australia in March 2010.
AB0xxx: Stereo, Lemon Yellow/Aged White Finish. Was on eBay in February 2011. Pics saved. Doesn't have Mosrite M Knobs (just like A0345,) and I'm wondering if Mosrite were using unusual knobs for the 350s on occasion.
viewtopic.php?f=27&t=4063
AB0xxx: Stereo, White. Does not have M Knobs, it has the Radio Shack-type knobs on it. I expect this is a late one. Shown in this Youtube video from user "Rusted Vacuum," but the bass was not playe in the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ISR68ErQ_L8

A0207, ?, Natural. I posted it years ago:
viewtopic.php?f=27&t=6115
A0217: Stereo, Natural. Was on eBay in June, 2010.
A0223: Stereo, Natural. Doesn't have "M" knobs. Listed on Reverb by Mike and Mikes Guitar Bar on October 5, 2019. Neck Humbucker says 10 - 8 - 73.

A0258 - Stereo, Brown. Owned by Scott Gammon. Thanks for sharing the number.
A0270, Stereo, Brown Burst. Showed up on Reverb on May 20, 2018 from SRM Music.

A0271, Stereo, Brown Burst. Pics and page archived. Sold by "hammondguy" on eBay on October 29, 2020 for $1,195. Has been refretted, and the zero fret is now stainless.
A0293, Stereo, Red Burst. Pics saved. A clear photo of it was posted on Facebook from "Blues Rock" in Hong Kong, and I saved the photo. This is highly likely to be the guitar I linked in the Reverb ad; the wood matches up. If it is the same guitar, they bought it without M knobs, and added M knobs later (which may or may not be accurate to how it was originally sold.) The older Reverb photos are barely legible, but I made out that they seemed to be A025? or A029?, judging by the closer photo. Reverb ad:
https://reverb.com/price-guide/guide/24 ... 0-1974-red
A0309, Stereo, "Walnut Burst" (probably a Brown Burst.) Had a nut instead of a metal string guide when it showed up in February 2014. I posted it years ago: viewtopic.php?f=27&t=6118
A0329, Stereo, Black. Has M Knobs, and has a Bigsby added. Once owned by Michael Marks. http://home.insightbb.com/~marksma/wsb/ ... 63768.html

A0350: Stereo. Black or Forest Green. Pics saved. A seller called this finish "Forest Green." Owned by forum member GTSP (as noted in the second link below.) Photos saved from his Photobucket page. It looks Black instead of Green to me, but maybe it's just the lighting in Jayson's photos, since I vaguely remember this guitar being green. Serial # is according to Jayson. Thanks for sharing the number.
viewtopic.php?f=27&t=2630
viewtopic.php?p=32180#p32180
A0365, Stereo, Red Burst. Has M Knobs. Pics and pages saved. Once owned by Michael Marks; he sold it. http://home.insightbb.com/~marksma/wsb/ ... ip-15.html

Partial #s Section - 2:

A002x, Stereo, Natural Finish
http://www.mylespaul.com/threads/1970-m ... er.301797/
A0X44, Stereo, Black. Could be A0344 (judging that there are other Black guitars near this number,) but I'm not sure:
https://eastwoodcustoms.com/projects/mosrite-350/

Partsrite Section - 1:

No-Number Partsrite, Mono, Red - Pics and page saved. Has a Sooner neck, and it says "Super 350" on the headstock. Has one volume and one tone knob. It has two unknown switches, near the Vol and Tone knobs. It also has a Black Widow-sized pad on the back, which is on other instruments of Tony Hunt's.
https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/97 ... -with-case

Speculated # Section - 5 Guitars

Numbers in this section are as close as I could speculate, after looking at photos or by other speculation.

A0006? Stereo. "Light colored body wood." Seller gave number as "9000 V," which I suppose could have been read upside down. This is not confirmed, though. First mentioned here, by moaimen: viewtopic.php?p=71576#p71576
A0038: Stereo, Natural, stock. Belongs to Tim Brennan. Can be seen at his Facebook post, here: https://www.facebook.com/Tymguitars/pos ... 0711924953
A013x or A015x: Mono, Red. Has a Moseley Vibrato. May be A0134, but I can't tell very clearly.
https://www.sheltonsguitars.com/2008/1- ... 08-08.html
A0291: Stereo, Brown Burst. It seems most likely to be A0291, judging from other Brown Burst guitars near this number and by how the 9 stamp appears on other guitars. This guitar has a Nut instead of its original String Guide. This is the guitar photographed on the side of this page, under the description for the 350 model:
https://reverb.com/p/mosrite-stereo-350-sunburst-1972
A0304: Stereo, "Bright" Sunburst (compared to the brown ones.) Appears to be A0304, but it's hard to tell. Also has non original knobs. Was apparently for sale from Detroit Guitar, since it's posted to their Pinterest page. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/552605816757739103/

Unknown #s - 13:

A0xxx: Stereo. Black. Owned by Lil' Jimmy Reed, and is customized; has "Lil' Reed" on the body and headstock. It may be somewhere over A0300, judging by the numbers of known Black 350s. Video from 2013: https://youtu.be/ZYc0CtwvItQ
A0xxx: Stereo, Black. Nate Gibson's. Has M Knobs. Is highly customized (not stock.) Pics saved. Could be over A0300, again, judging by other known Black models.
A0xxx: Stereo, Brown. Was for sale on eBay on March 24, 2011. Photos have been saved.
A0xxx: Stereo, Dark Blue. Has M Knobs. Pic saved. Pic shared by Charley Johnson on Facebook. This is the third Blue 350 I've seen.
A0xxx: Stereo, Natural. Doesn't have M Knobs. Pic saved. Body was heavily cut away to look more teardrop-ish. Found on Facebook, posted by Larry's Guitars. I think I can still see at least one number on it, but I can't quite tell what it is.
A0xxx: Stereo, Natural. Appears to be in the first 100, but I can't tell for sure if it's A0057, A0067, A0069 or A0075. Appeared in late 2020, from Jean-sebastien's saucisserie shop in Baie Des Sables, Canada.: https://reverb.com/item/37253942-mosrit ... -week-deal
A0xxx: Mono, Red. Was for sale on eBay on August 30, 2012 in the U.K. Photos have been saved.
A0xxx: ???, ???, Brown Burst. Owned by (or formerly owned by) Forum Member Jon Fine (jfine.) Intro Post: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2182&hilit=350 Mention of Finish: viewtopic.php?p=61035#p61035
A0xxx, Mono, ???, Owned by (or formerly owned by) Forum Member "Lespete456." viewtopic.php?f=4&t=5922&hilit=350

Tym Brennan's Unknown # 350s;
A0xxx: Mono, Natural. Has a Mosrite Single Coil in the bridge.
A0xxx: Mono, Dark Sunburst. Has a Maple Ventures neck, a Mosrite single coil in the neck position, and a Mosrite stop-tailpiece screwed into a Moseley Vibrato Base Plate with a stoptail screwed through it. I question why the baseplate's installed.

All of Tym's 350s can be seen here:
https://tymguitars.com.au/blogs/blog/15 ... srite-350s

May not have a # anymore:

A0xxx: Stereo, Natural. Pics saved. Doesn't have M Knobs. Has a Bigsby and a Tune O Matic, and was refretted twice (so it may no longer have a number.) Doesn't have M Knobs. Found on Facebook, posted by William R. Crabtree.
A0xxx: Stereo, Natural (or slightly more brown.) May have lost its # in a Refret (judging from photos) though I'm not certain if it did lose the #. Formerly owned by Will Speer (Will S on the forum) and was played in a 2007/2008 video from Rockongoodpeople. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1942&p=19381#p19381

Re: Mosrite 300 and 350 Serial Numbers? (Guitar and Bass)

Postby 101Volts » Sat Feb 13, 2021 4:06 pm

Second Update for February 13, 2021:

One more 350, a Stereo Brown Burst, added. Unknown number. Pic saved. I found the photo on Pinterest, and followed the link; it was down. I found the original ad in the Wayback Machine, but most of the photos weren't saved. Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/545568942334698760/ Wayback Machine: http://web.archive.org/web/201202200323 ... o-350.html

Previous update today:

300 Models:

A0293, Stereo, Red Burst. Pics saved. A clear photo of it was posted on Facebook from "Blues Rock" in Hong Kong, and I saved the photo. This is highly likely to be the guitar I linked in the Reverb ad; the wood matches up. If it is the same guitar, they bought it without M knobs, and added M knobs later (which may or may not be accurate to how it was originally sold.) The older Reverb photos are barely legible, but I made out that they seemed to be A025? or A029?, judging by the closer photo. Reverb ad:

A002x, Stereo, Natural Finish
http://www.mylespaul.com/threads/1970-m ... er.301797/
A0X44, Stereo, Black. Could be A0344 (judging that there are other Black guitars near this number,) but I'm not sure:

Partsrite Section - 1:

No-Number Partsrite, Mono, Red - Pics and page saved. Has a Sooner neck, and it says "Super 350" on the headstock. Has one volume and one tone knob. It has two unknown switches, near the Vol and Tone knobs. It also has a Black Widow-sized pad on the back, which is on other instruments of Tony Hunt's.

Unknown #s - 14:

-week-deal

Tym Brennan's Unknown # 350s;

Postby 101Volts » Wed Mar 31, 2021 2:30 pm

It looks like A0343 (or is it A0348?) showed up, and it's Natural. It has the cheaper knobs on it (which could be stock.) I'm a bit busy to double check it and add it beyond this update, though.

Re: Mosrite 300 and 350 Serial Numbers? (Guitar and Bass)

Postby 101Volts » Sat Apr 03, 2021 5:56 pm

Update for April 3, 2021:

A0349 (Natural, with cheaper knobs that are probably original) surfaced. Sold by "Big Brothers Pawn Springdale" in
Springdale, AR, United States. Price: $1,100 + $150 shipping. https://reverb.com/item/39740038-mosrit ... s-mahogany

I zoomed in on the photos. It's most likely to be 349.

Previous updates, for February 13, 2021:

One more 350, a Stereo Brown Burst, added. Unknown number. Pic saved. I found the photo on Pinterest, and followed the link; it was down. I found the original ad in the Wayback Machine, but most of the photos weren't saved. Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/545568942334698760/ Wayback Machine: http://web.archive.org/web/201202200323 ... o-350.html

One unknown 350 Stereo Bass added. I'm surprised I forgot about this one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ISR68ErQ_L8

Reverb ad:

A0350: Stereo. Black or Forest Green. Pics saved. A seller called this finish "Forest Green." Owned by forum member GTSP (as noted in the second link below.) Photos saved from his Photobucket page. It looks Black instead of Green to me, but maybe it's just the lighting in Jayson's photos, since I vaguely remember this guitar being green. Serial # is according to Jayson. Partial #s Section - 2:

A002x, Stereo, Natural Finish
http://www.mylespaul.com/threads/1970-m ... er.301797/
A0X44, Stereo, Black. Could be A0344 (judging that there are other Black guitars near this number,) but I'm not sure:

Partsrite Section - 1:

No-Number Partsrite, Mono, Red - Pics and page saved. Has a Sooner neck, and it says "Super 350" on the headstock. Has one volume and one tone knob.

Unknown #s - 14:

-week-deal

Tym Brennan's Unknown # 350s;

Postby 101Volts » Wed Apr 14, 2021 12:45 pm

Update for April 14, 2021:

I'm adding a "Finishes Accounted For" section to the replies, which will be just above where the list starts.

Also, I found reference to another instrument:

1 Guitar, A0019 (Stereo, Natural) added. This was on eBay some time ago, but I don't know when. I found this title and description from "thea.com," which is a site that re-posts eBay ads and never seems to delete them:

"mosrite model 350 original usa 70s stereo model,natural orig.case VINTAGE DEAL !

mosrite model 350.70s#A0019,solid body original semie mosely creation done after the 60s venture era.natural ash, bolt on,all original with no breaks or repairs.this is the rare stereo model with two sets of controls and two separate jacks for great effects.the humbucking pickups are stong and clear and the frets are a bit larger than 60s models.frets show minimum use. arrow straight neck, easy action, strong sound.all working, ready to play. while the guitar is generally clean and largely unused. There is one major knock on face-see pics.back has a few nicks and discoloration;and the neck has one nick to the wood-otherwise the neck shows no wear.the head and back of head look perfect.and the hardwear is shiny and clean.other than the mention face knock, medium weight, good balance.the face is also very clean.original case interior is flesh and clean, exterior has a few tears, but the case is very solid. all in all. A solid and seldom seen guitar that can do a lot-i.e. cool, affordable vintage $50 usa $200 world shipping"

Previous update, for April 3, 2021:

A0349 (Natural, with cheaper knobs that are probably original) surfaced. Sold by "Big Brothers Pawn Springdale" in
Springdale, AR, United States. Price: $1,100 + $150 shipping. https://reverb.com/item/39740038-mosrit ... s-mahogany

I zoomed in on the photos. It's most likely to be 349.

Finishes Accounted For:

Black - Shows up late in the model run.
Blue - 3 accounted for. I'm not sure if any are original.
Brown.
Brown Burst.
Natural - This is the most common finish seen.
Red.
Red Burst.
Sunburst - 1 accounted for (may not be original.) A0304 (speculated #) is likely its number.
Yellow - 2 accounted for. (1 mystery bass, and Guitar A0345.)
White - 1 accounted for (mystery # bass.)

Also, Guitar A0350 was once described as "Forest Green," in the ad where forum member "GTSP" bought it. I'm not sure if it's really a Dark Green, or a Black finish.

I feel confident that the Black, Brown, Brown Burst, Red, and Red Burst instruments are all original finishes. The Yellow ones might also be original, since I've found two of them that look nearly the same.

I'm not so sure about the originality of the Blue ones, the Green/Black one, or the White one. If I had better pics of the Unknown # Blue one, I could more easily tell.

Reverb ad:

A0309, Stereo, "Walnut Burst" (probably a Brown Burst.) Had a nut instead of a metal string guide when it showed up in February 2014. I posted it years ago: viewtopic.php?f=27&t=6118

Unknown #s - 14:

-week-deal
A0xxx: Stereo, Brown Burst.. Pic saved. I found the photo on Pinterest, and followed the link; it was down. I found the original ad in the Wayback Machine, but most of the photos weren't saved.

Tym Brennan's Unknown # 350s;

Postby 101Volts » Tue Apr 20, 2021 7:08 am

Update for April 20, 2021:

One finish variety added, which I had forgotten to add.

Update for April 3, 2021:

A0349 (Natural, with cheaper knobs that are probably original) surfaced. Sold by "Big Brothers Pawn Springdale" in
Springdale, AR, United States. Price: $1,100 + $150 shipping. https://reverb.com/item/39740038-mosrit ... s-mahogany

I zoomed in on the photos. It's most likely to be 349.

Finishes Accounted For:

Black - Shows up late in the model run.
Blue - 3 accounted for.
Brown.
Brown Burst.
Natural - This is the most common finish seen. About the first 60 seem to be Natural, though without each one individually accounted for, I can't say that for certain.
Red.
Red, Translucent. (A0065.)

Could be A0344 (judging that there are other Black guitars near this number,) but I'm not sure:
https://eastwoodcustoms.com/projects/mosrite-350/

Unknown #s - 14:

-week-deal
A0xxx: Stereo, Brown Burst.. Pic saved. I found the photo on Pinterest, and followed the link; it was down. I found the original ad in the Wayback Machine, but most of the photos weren't saved.

Tym Brennan's Unknown # 350s;

Postby 101Volts » Mon May 03, 2021 1:24 pm

Update for May 3, 2021:

Info added to Nate Gibson's guitar, which was in the Unknown # section. It's A0344. The pinstriping on it was done by Charlie Decker, the Pickguard and Armrest by Sarah, and Evan Williamson worked on the crumbling binding.

Update for April 20, 2021:

One finish variety added, which I had forgotten to add.

Could be A0344 (judging that there are other Black guitars near this number,) but I'm not sure. If it is, it's an old photo of Nate Gibson's Guitar.
https://eastwoodcustoms.com/projects/mosrite-350/

Partsrite Section - 1:

No-Number Partsrite, Mono, Red - Pics and page saved. Has a Sooner neck, and it says "Super 350" on the headstock. Has one Volume Knob, and one Tone Knob. It has two unknown switches, near the Vol and Tone Knobs. It also has a Black Widow-sized pad on the back, which is on other instruments of Tony Hunt's.

Knobs aren't the "M" type (but are possibly original.) Was apparently for sale from Detroit Guitar, since it's posted to their Pinterest page. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/552605816757739103/

-week-deal
A0xxx: Stereo, Brown Burst.. Pic saved. I found the photo on Pinterest, and followed the link; it was down. I found the original ad in the Wayback Machine, but most of the photos weren't saved.

Tym Brennan's Unknown # 350s;

Has a Bigsby and a Tune O Matic, and was refretted twice (so it may no longer have a number.) Found on Facebook, posted by William R.

Postby 101Volts » Wed May 05, 2021 3:17 pm

Update for May 5, 2021:

I moved the Finishes section to the end.

I also merged a speculated A0x44 instrument with A0344, since it's 99% likely to be Nate's A0344, pre-customization. Therefore, we have a more accurate (if not 100% accurate) number of 92 instruments accounted for.

A0117, Stereo, Natural; Showed up on eBay in July 2018 for $1890. VG+ condition or better except there's a mark next to a screw on the neck plate. Auction said it was a 1973 model and there were a few mis-drilled screw holes under the pickguard.

A0331, Stereo, Black, Owned by Forum Member In-stereo.
A0344, Stereo, Black. Nate Gibson's Guitar. Pics saved. Has been customized and repaired, and it has M Knobs. The pinstriping on it was done by Charlie Decker, the Armrest and Pickguard by Sarah here on the forum, and Evan Williamson worked on the crumbling binding. Also, I saved a photo of what's probably it, pre-customization, from Eastwood Guitars' site. I was able to make out the numbers as being A0?44: https://eastwoodcustoms.com/projects/mosrite-350/
A0345, Stereo, Yellow. Pics and page saved. Knobs are teardrop shaped. Listed on Reverb by Poway Jewelry and Loanon September 20, 2019. https://reverb.com/item/28163955-vintag ... ric-guitar

Partial #s Section - 1:

A002x, Stereo, Natural Finish
http://www.mylespaul.com/threads/1970-m ... er.301797/

It also has a Black Widow-sized pad on the back, which is on other instruments of Tony Hunt's.
https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/97 ...

Knobs aren't the "M" type (but are possibly original.) Was apparently for sale from Detroit Guitar, since it's posted to their Pinterest page. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/552605816757739103/

-week-deal
A0xxx: Stereo, Brown Burst.. Pic saved. I found the photo on Pinterest, and followed the link; it was down. I found the original ad in the Wayback Machine, but most of the photos weren't saved.

Tym Brennan's Unknown # 350s;

Has a Bigsby and a Tune O Matic, and was refretted twice (so it may no longer have a number.) Found on Facebook, posted by William R. Crabtree.
A0xxx: Stereo, Natural (or slightly more brown.) May have lost its # in a Refret (judging from photos) though I'm not certain if it did lose the #. Formerly owned by Will Speer (Will S on the forum) and was played in a 2007/2008 video from Rockongoodpeople. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1942&p=19381#p19381
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCvTLZ8R-2Q

--------------

92 instruments are listed (or fewer, due to the unknown and speculation sections.) 1 350 Stereo Guitar, A0344, moved from the Unknown to Known section in the previous update.

4 300 Basses,
4 300 Guitars,

1 Speculated # 300 Guitar
1 Partial # 300 Bass,

1 No Number 350 Bass,
8 350 Basses,
1 Partial # 350 bass,

47 350 Guitars - 11 or 12 Mono, 35 or 36 Stereo.

1 350 Guitar with a partial #,
5 350 Guitars with speculated #s,
1 Guitar that's a Partsrite,

6 Unknown 350 Basses
13 Unknown 350 Guitars.

Re: Mosrite 300 and 350 Serial Numbers? (Guitar and Bass)

Postby 101Volts » Fri May 14, 2021 1:25 pm

Update for May 14, 2021:

Stereo 350 Bass AB0019 (Natural) added.

I also added info of which initials (E.W.) are on the fretboard, beneath K0005's number.

Other minor changes have been made, including a small model trivia section, for anyone who's unfamiliar with the differences between 300 and 350 models.

Update for May 3, 2021:

Info added to Nate Gibson's guitar, which was in the Unknown # section; It's A0344. The pinstriping on it was done by Charlie Decker, the Pickguard and Armrest by Sarah, and Evan Williamson worked on the crumbling binding.

Legend:

An instrument new to the list (or moved from an Unknown section) as of the day the list is updated, whether the instrument has a number or not, will have Bold and Underscored Text for its Serial Number (or "unknown number") to stand out. (Examples: A0100 and A0xxx [Unknown 350 Guitar Example.]) When one of these marks is new, I'll also keep it in bold underscored text in the following update, but I'll remove the marks in the update after that.

Instruments that are finished in any kind except Natural, White or Yellow will have their finish set in colored text, except for Black. Black instruments will use Bold Text, to stand out more clearly.

Model Trivia:

300 models are 1-Pickup (in stock form) models. They came as Guitar and Bass. Few have shown up, though I don't think they'd be any more valuable than a 350 model in 2021.

350 models are 2-pickup models which came as Guitar and Bass. There are "Stereo" (2 cord output) and "Mono" (1 cord output) models of each Guitar and Bass, and it appears that Stereo models are more common than Mono models.

300 Models:

Speculated # Section - 1 Guitar:

K0009: Natural. Pic saved. Vaguely appears to be K0009, but I can't tell for sure in the photo. Doesn't have its stock pickup installed at the moment. It has been drilled to have a Bridge Pickup, too. It has a Bill Lawrence pup in the Bridge, a Seymour Duncan P90 in the neck, and an extra knob. Owned by forum member "rtdreep," who has owned it since 1978 (roughly speaking.) He does have the stock pickup, though. The guitar was mentioned in the forum, here: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=7994

A0148: Mono, Blue and 5 M Knobs (?) Also, it has a Fender Bridge on it. Pics and page saved. The page claimed this guitar was used by The B-52s, but no link's provided to this claimed video. Maybe he meant the brand was used by The B-52s? https://www.stubblebinelutherie.com/gui ... n-ink-blue
A0150: Mono, Brown (Not "Brown Burst." Has a faint gold hue if you look at it right.) Pic saved. Bought by Alan Manoian on eBay in 2004 or so. He also owns 300 Guitar #5. Thanks for sharing the number.
A0165, Mono, Natural. Owned by (or formerly owned by) Forum member "smitbust." viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2476&hilit=350
A0180: Mono, Red. Owned by Michael Flores.
AO202: Stereo, Brown Burst. First mentioned here, by moaimen: viewtopic.php?p=71576#p71576 Feb 6, 2021: Showed up for sale from Tony Hunt's Collection. Pics and Page of the 2021 Auction saved. https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/97 ... ie-moseley

A0237, Stereo, Black. I posted it at the forum in February 2014:

A0238 - Stereo, Natural. Has M Knobs. Once owned by Michael Marks; I'm not sure if he still owns it. http://home.insightbb.com/~marksma/wsb/ ... ip-15.html
A0258 - Stereo, Brown. Owned by Scott Gammon. Thanks for sharing the number.
A0270, Stereo, Brown Burst. Showed up on Reverb on May 20, 2018 from SRM Music.
https://reverb.com/item/12271768-mosrit ... rown-burst
63768.html
Listed on Reverb by Poway Jewelry and Loanon September 20, 2019. https://reverb.com/item/28163955-vintag ... ric-guitar
A0349: Stereo. Natural. Knobs are Plastic, probably original. Sold by "Big Brothers Pawn Springdale" in
Springdale, AR, United States. Price: $1,100 + $150 shipping. https://reverb.com/item/39740038-mosrit ... s-mahogany

Partial #s Section - 1:

A002x, Stereo, Natural Finish
http://www.mylespaul.com/threads/1970-m ... er.301797/

It also has a Black Widow-sized pad on the back, which is on other instruments of Tony Hunt's.
https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/97 ...

Knobs aren't the "M" type (but are possibly original.) Was apparently for sale from Detroit Guitar, since it's posted to their Pinterest page. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/552605816757739103/

I'm not sure if it's original, or refinished.
-week-deal
A0xxx: Stereo, Brown Burst.. Pic saved. I found the photo on Pinterest, and followed the link; it was down. I found the original ad in the Wayback Machine, but most of the photos weren't saved.

Tym Brennan's Unknown # 350s;

--------------

93 instruments are listed (or fewer, due to the unknown and speculation sections.) 1 350 Stereo Bass, AB0019, added in this update.

4 300 Basses,
4 300 Guitars,

1 Speculated # 300 Guitar
1 Partial # 300 Bass,

1 No Number 350 Bass,
9 350 Basses,
1 Partial # 350 bass,

47 350 Guitars - 11 or 12 Mono, 35 or 36 Stereo.

1 350 Guitar with a partial #,
5 350 Guitars with speculated #s,
1 Guitar that's a Partsrite,

6 Unknown 350 Basses
13 Unknown 350 Guitars.

Finishes Accounted For:

Black - Shows up late in the model run. (Earliest known guitar is A0237, though I wonder if it's really 337, and the earliest bass is AB117 - which happens to currently be the highest # for a Stereo 350 Bass.)
Blue - 3 accounted for.
Brown.
Brown Burst.
Natural - This is the most common finish seen. About the first 60 seem to be Natural, though without each one individually accounted for, I can't say that for certain.
Red.
Red, Translucent. (A0065.)
Red Burst.
Sunburst - 1 accounted for, though it may not be an original finish. The guitar is a speculated (but highly likely to be) A0304.
Yellow - 2 accounted for. (1 mystery bass, and Guitar A0345.) Perhaps these are the only 2, and they were ordered at the same time.
White - 1 mystery # bass accounted for.

Re: Mosrite 300 and 350 Serial Numbers? (Guitar and Bass)

Postby 101Volts » Thu May 20, 2021 2:23 pm

Minor Update for May 20, 2021:

Minor update to A0344 added, to reduce confusion of "A0?44" being in the list.

300 Models:

Basses - 4:

KB0002: Natural, 1 Neck Pup. Pic and page saved. Once owned by Michael Marks. I'm not sure if he still owns it. Found here: http://home.insightbb.com/~marksma/wsb/ ... 34980.html

Guitars - 4:

K0005: Natural. Has 1 Stock Neck Pup. Pic saved. Also has initials, "E.W.," beneath the serial number. Owned by Alan Manoian, who also owns 350 Guitar A0150. http://www.mosriteforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=357
K0006: Natural. Owned by forum member mosriteforever. Mentioned at the same link as K0005, above.
K0010: ? One probably stock humbucking pup at neck position, no bridge pup. Mentioned first here, by Moaimen: viewtopic.php?p=71576#p71576
K0016: ? Has a probably stock and slanted Neck Humbucker, and a Single Coil Bridge Pup (which was probably added later.) It has 2 knobs, 3 switches, and Mono wiring. Mentioned first here, by Moaimen: viewtopic.php?p=71576#p71576

AB0036: Stereo, Blue. Photos and page saved. Has a Maple neck. Ad says the body's made of Alder. This finish may be original, since it looks old, and it looks like it aged like other 350s. AO202: Stereo, Brown Burst. First mentioned here, by moaimen: viewtopic.php?p=71576#p71576 Feb 6, 2021: Showed up for sale from Tony Hunt's Collection. Pics and Page of the 2021 Auction saved. https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/97 ... ie-moseley
A0207, ?, Natural. I posted it years ago:

A0217: Stereo, Natural. Was on eBay in June, 2010.
A0223: Stereo, Natural. Doesn't have "M" Knobs. Listed on Reverb by Mike and Mikes Guitar Bar on October 5, 2019. Neck Humbucker says 10 - 8 - 73.

A0227: Stereo, Natural. Doesn't have Mosrite "M" Knobs. Listing ended in April 2012. Number is according to auction description. https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/11 ... solid-body
A0232: Stereo, Natural - Ended on eBay October 13 2018.

Reverb ad:

A0309, Stereo, "Walnut Burst" (probably a Brown Burst.) Had a nut instead of a metal string guide when it showed up in February 2014. I posted it years ago: viewtopic.php?f=27&t=6118
A0329, Stereo, Black. Has M Knobs, and has a Bigsby added. Once owned by Michael Marks. http://home.insightbb.com/~marksma/wsb/ ... 63768.html
I tried, and I was then able to make out the numbers as being "A0?44:" https://eastwoodcustoms.com/projects/mosrite-350/
A0345, Stereo, Yellow. Pics and page saved. Knobs are teardrop shaped. Listed on Reverb by Poway Jewelry and Loanon September 20, 2019. https://reverb.com/item/28163955-vintag ... ric-guitar
A0349: Stereo. Natural. Knobs are Plastic, probably original. Sold by "Big Brothers Pawn Springdale" in
Springdale, AR, United States. Price: $1,100 + $150 shipping. https://reverb.com/item/39740038-mosrit ... s-mahogany

Partial #s Section - 1:

A002x, Stereo, Natural Finish
http://www.mylespaul.com/threads/1970-m ... er.301797/

Knobs aren't the "M" type (but are possibly original.) Was apparently for sale from Detroit Guitar, since it's posted to their Pinterest page. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/552605816757739103/

I'm not sure if it's original, or refinished.
-week-deal
A0xxx: Stereo, Brown Burst.. Pic saved. I found the photo on Pinterest, and followed the link; it was down. I found the original ad in the Wayback Machine, but most of the photos weren't saved.

Tym Brennan's Unknown # 350s;
