Fuzzrite: Short V/T knobs vs. taller knobs?

Anyone know the scoop on the knobs used on early Fuzzrites. I know the Si versions all had the taller non-V/non-T knobs, but how about the early Ge? I have two Ge's both with pot codes from 1966 but strangely enough the boards inside are different -- one has components facing outwards, the other more usual has components facing inward so when you open it you see the back of the board.

One was missing the knobs so I replaced them with repro taller non-V/non-T but the other one has the V/T knobs like some others I've seen. Did they originally come with the V/T knobs from Mosrite guitars?

Also any idea about this version with the components facing out?

Thanks

1966 unusual components facing out -- missing knobs (had Vox knobs on it) so I put on tall non-V/non-T

Yes, they are great photos.

I never really paid close enough attention to the knobs, but as far as I remember the knobs matched what the guitars at the time had. The earlier ones had the short knobs, but I don't remember if they were V/T sets or not.

As for the two versions of the board, my guess would be that they couldn't get the normal version of the footswitch which has the 6 terminals oriented in the same direction, so they did a batch with the components out.

I've seen two Ge Fuzzrites with the board component side out, and the wooden & perspex spacers. All the rest have been components facing inwards.

I saw that thread ... tantalising and infuriating with all the pics gone. I dredged through the wayback cache but this was all I could find :(

Sorry guy's, those photo's I posted were on the internet and are no longer available. I don't know what happened to Zaks photo's. As I recall those were his own photo's so apparently he closed his photo album from public view. Zak quit participating both here and Surf the Guitar 101 forum. Maybe something useful can be found searching in Google. http://www.google.com/#hl=en&source=hp& ... 827b26355d

That one tiny thumbnail was all I could dredge out of google cache and the wayback machine.
But there is quite a log of good info (and pics) here: http://stompboxes.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2471
