hello dear Mosrite experts - I have stumbled across a Mosrite Ventures branded instrument and I wanted to ask if anybody knows about the origins, age, built quality etc of it ..
it's a black Ventures labelled guitar with gold hardware, strange cross fingerboard inlays and a bigsby-style vibrato unit

any info is greatly appreciated,
thanks

Re: Mosrite Ventures copy / clone question
I don't know what it is but I am sure it isn't a Mosrite.

Definitely Mosrite inspired, I'd say.

Re: Mosrite Ventures copy / clone question
Hey Guys, it looks to be one of the recent Aria re-issues heavily modified.
The Aria Co. actually manufactured these back in the late 60s to early 70s.
Back then, they either had the 'Aria' OR the 'Univox' badge on them. Some
others might of been tagged Guyotone as well

make the Mos' of it, choose the 'rite stuff.

Would agree on the Aria conclusion. The text on the trussrod cover plate is the giveaway.
Looks like they were trying to go between a "cross" between a Gospel and Tommy Iommi's SG, perfect for surfer stoner rock. You could call yourselves Black Surfbath.

Looks cool with the (maltese cross?) crosses on the fretboard. I'd buy one if I found one!
