The one in Desert surfer's photo looks like a "Royal '63", post logo model......

They are so good and worth separate postings!! I would love to own one like that...(duh, but who wouldn't?!) ideal finish and headstock logo's!!!TimR wrote:I can't figure out how to do 2 pictures on one post. Here's the headstock...

[edit]looking at that wonderful headstock I just had a thought about how a typical iconic Mosrite headstock would be with 6 left hand tuners instead of 3 left hand and 3 right hand tuners. The pegholes and tuning shafts would obviously remain off set while the tuning buttons themselves would face each other directly...

Nice! Those 3-tone bursts are starting to work on me - giving me GAS pains again. I'm just in a holding pattern trying to decide if I want to get another Mosrite or a Hallmark. I DO like that 'burst ...

Re: Fillmore& Kurokumo
As I said, it was probably the best Mosrite I've owned, and I've owned a lot. I owned a "real" '63
sidejack once -before I let a nice Japanese gentleman give me an ungodly amount of $$ for it, at a guitar show in Pasadena. I hate to say it, but this one played better, looked better and sounded better than the "real thing". It was light years beyond the "Excellent" models.

Re: Fillmore& Kurokumo
Is the "teardrop" shaped burst on the Royal '63 based on a particular guitar? Mosrite bursts usually follow the curve to the upper horn.
Oy vey - it's MESHUGGA BEACH PARTY - The world's premier Jewish Surf Music Band!

What? Couldn't tell the logo is a link? So click here, what's the hold up? http://www.meshuggabeachparty.com

Nice call Mel, I remember Nokie's '63 on WDR '64 Vol II, and Nokie's did follow the German Carve......
make the Mos' of it, choose the 'rite stuff.
