Fantastic Mel, and congrats on the double neck. Danny let it go to the right person.
We need centerfold shots of the Hallmark Custom Custom and the Ellison Double Neck side by side with the amp of choice.

In due time. At the moment, we've got a major storm system passing through, so I'm going to be waiting for some better weather for a photo shoot!

I know its right to ask but How much was the Doubleneck $$. I'm sure others would like to know after watching Danny build it and drooling like fools.

I don't think I can answer that directly. Danny's not in the business of building guitars for money, and it was a unique arrangement.

Let's just say Ed Elliott gets over $5,000 for his 59 customs and I sure wouldn't build another double neck for that price. So, if anyone wants one, I sent Ed Elliott the drawings of my/Mel's doubleneck and I'm sure he'll take your order.

I built that guitar strictly as a challenge to replicate a museum quality of the original. I accomplished my goal and both Mel and I are happy. I can't wait to see live video of it being played with Meshugga Beach party.
Suuuu-weeeet!!!

That guitar was a labor of love and a dollar amount can't be affixed to something like that.
Making it available to Mel once the challenges of planning, building, and successfully finishing such a complex project are met is just the icing on the cake for those of us who are watching the whole process. That guitar will find its voice and sing.
Those pictures Mel posted of his daughter and him are enough to bring a tear even to this tired old eye.
Amazing from start to finish, and one could say that these are still very early days in the history of that instrument. It will outlive us all, I bet.
Pretty cool, ain't it?

I feel extremely honored that Danny entrusted me with this guitar, and I look forward enjoying it for many years to come. And maybe if I'm lucky, someday I'll get to watch Natasha and her child play it together too!
