You couldn't be more correct, Strat. Although I'm from Denmark ;-).

Hi all,
Lars and I are really thrilled to work so closely with Ed.

What's missing from this discussion is a complete picture of what Ed is taking to Denmark. But as many of you know, Ed's operation if pretty lean and much (if not all) of his work is built on demand. Take into consideration that the press release needs to go out much earlier than the visit, and you might not be surprised to find that the special guitar for El Twang (and someone named El Reber?) is still under construction.

However, I can pull back the curtain enough to give you a hint of what's in store...

Those are gonna be sweet, guys.
Maybe this is more for Ed, but are the fret boards on the RS Standard angled, like on a Mark 1, or will they be perpendicular (traditional) like the RS Legend?

Hey Strat,

The're going to perpendicular, just like the RS Legend.
I like the neck tapering into the body like that, and it makes it a lot
easier to adjust the truss rod with the guitar tuned up
and you don't have to remove the front pickup like you have
to do on some Mark I's.

Hi all,
It's time for more pictures of Ed's current project--the two RS-Standard guitars conceived as a demonstration of all the cool stuff E.F. Elliott can do and tailored to El Twang's very surfy needs!

Note that these two will be bolt-on necks. Ed can build setnecks just as easily, like the RS-Legend that touched down in Japan recently.

Hi all,
As you know by now, Ed's busy assembling two very special RS Standards. He is carrying one to Denmark (see the press releaseImage) and the other is headed to the same latitude, different hemisphere.;) Ed is departing for Copenhagen on Wednesday (April 29) and will be staying with El Twang for almost a week. The finished guitars probably deserve their own topic, so here are the last progress photos featuring the custom trim and finish before presenting the complete build.
