Why doesn't Filmore put "M" knobs on their Mosrites?

They don't make 'em. According to Fillmore (and most Ventures fans), the pinnacle of Mosrite design occurred between 1963 and 1965, and that means no M knobs among other things.

the japanese m knobs aren't correct either, the bottom of the knob doesn't come out enough. other then that they look pretty close to the originals. as far as I can tell the spun knobs look dead on.

Yeah, I noticed this. I bought a pair of those repro M knobs off of ebay & put them on my Ranger. They have the M on the top, but they don't have the numbers on the bottom. They look pretty good on the Ranger, though.

yeah i bought two sets and i was a little bummed about the numbers missing. I always thought that was just another magically thing about mosrites the knobs go from 1-5. I guess Semie just had to be different, lol. I still have them, they're go on a guitar someday
