got a question I bought a Fillmore MKII off fleabay, dont have it yet but I have 2 questions for owners of this model or people with models with these pups, what do the strat style pickups sound like?
this guitar has autographs all over it, I like punk but Im not crazy about the bands (the misfits were ok with Danzig but now??) all those other bands I dont have a clue lol, I figure i will prob replace the pups with something a lil hotter maybe make it a 1 pup model, so I can make a new PG save the Ramones autographs, should I wax these signatures off or leave it?

If it were mine, I would take all of the autographs off except Tommy Ramone and Marky Ramone who were actually in the Ramones. Those are on the guard anyway. Or you could change the guard out and keep the one with the autograph's with the guitar in the case. All the other autograph's were really no relation to the Ramones with the exception of Mickey Leigh who is Joey's brother. Somehow Joey's brother's autograph on the guitar get's into the level of Pete Townsend's tennis instructor if you ask me.
Then I would put one or two of my hand wound pickups that are the exact size of the original Mosrite small pickups Johnny used. These are super high output and will get alot closer to the strings too for the classic Ramones crunch tone!
That is always the downside of the Strat pickups is you cannot adjust them high enough to get a good signal, and they are usually low to med output and the combination is not good for a Ramones sound.
This is what I would do if it were mine, however it is yours so this is just a suggestion mind you. I have done this pickup swap before on a couple JR copies and it really makes them come alive.
Let me know if I can help you with the pickups, I would love to.

Plus one on what Bob said. I had one of those and have played a couple of the JR signature guitars. The signature ones are good but the pickups on those are a bit wimpy.

Im thinking the same a Bob Shade, those autographs dont mean much to me, if it was
Johnnys that would be different, Jerry Only??? REALLY???? who cares?..Bubbles means more
I was thinking about getting a set of Hallmarks but I wanted to see what ppl think, theres also the M-3 CALIFORNIA RC-100 Replacement Pickups or the humbucking versions

Sorry for one more bump. I think the guitar would look and sound right like the most like early Johnny to use the pickups that were on the the original Mosrite Ventures II flat top and Hallmark Swept-Wings. Also, just as a observation, if you decide to leave the Marky and Tommy autograph's it does not look like there is room for the larger pickups as it would cover the autographs somewhat.
Ok, I will shut up now.

Bob what do these pickups sound like? are they the same as what goes into the Hallmark Ramones? Im not sure if its the tone Im going for really I need something with high output to drive an amp, not really trying to sound like the Ramones but I need it to be overdriven.
Curious about the HIGH FIDELITY HUMBUCKER also, Ill look on youtube to see if there is anyone has a demo.
