"Vintage Mosrite"

Postby Desert Surfer » Sun May 11, 2008 10:03 am

The only book I could find about Mosrites was "Vintage Mosrite" which was published by a Japanese company. It has a lot photos and information but unfortunately in Japanese. Here are two photos of Artie's Front Porch Music. Danny and I visit his store last year. Artie was kind enough to show us around. He even autographed the page for me. :P

Artie is one of the largest Mosrite guitars / amps collector. There is another guy in Los Angles who has bigger collection (100+?) .

Thanks for posting that, D.S.,
I've heard that book has become rare and expensive.
I'm visualizing a new thread...one with lots of pictures..."A Visit With Artie."

All the goodies are on the wall!

More goodies! Look only, no touch. Artie is not selling yet.

More? More!

Very nice copy? Artie would not tell us who made it. It surely looks like the real 63 sidejack.

Carson city? 70's? I don't quite remember

Desert Surfer, that's incredible!! But that's not fair either!! I'm starting to get G.A.S.
I'm really developing a STRONG feeling for that Serenade!

p.s. I thought Semie had only made the Bicenntenial Model (1965) in a
"Ventures Model" and also a Proto type Serenade for Buck Owens before
Harmony Guitars ended up making them, but I see a (Joe Maphis?) Bass
Model on the wall.....??

I just noticed, in the third photo down there is a picture hanging on the wall. That picture looks like it is the South side view of the P Street factory. There is a semi truck back up to the loading dock. Man, those were the day's.

Vincent, did you mention earlier there was a guy in L.A. that has more Mosrite's than Artie? Is his collection available for public viewing?

Danny

I saw this guy selling Mosrites on eBay a few years ago, on user name he had a brief introduction of himself and his website. He has amazing collection of Mosrites and Fenders. I forgot his name and the website address. Arpsum may know. I thought his name is Mark something? and he was from Orange county. I should have bookmarked it but I didn't. Sorry, Danny.

Hey, Danny, I found it! :D , his name is Michael Marks. Wow, I am very impressed with my memory (not too bad for a 61 old man)
