In addition to Ed's great pickups you might also consider the M3 split output models. Either way you can't go wrong.

Agreed! The only reason I mentioned Ed's pups over any of the others was because he has the correct NOS Mosrite embossed logo plastic pickup covers, in case Austin was wanting to go as original as possible.

Makes sense to me! For a vintage correct look, Ed's the way to go.

I forgot that M3 has pups with a coil tap, Thanks. I think I'll get a set of those. What type of knobs did MK Vs use, The short or tall type? Oh and I ordered replacement intonation screws yesterday.

Re: 1966 Ventures II GC Restoration
Today I took a closer look at the bridge and some of the screw holes are too small for the screws. Next, I'm removing that doggone screw remnant from the G saddle if I can by drilling it out (I know, Risky... I don't want to ruin the saddle either) And I'm also drilling the small bridge screw holes to a proper size.

Good luck drilling out that saddle. I've never had any luck drilling a broken screw out of a saddle. I've ruined two of them trying it, but I'm sure it can be done. Hopefully!

Austin, you may want to apply some penetrating oil to the screw first, in an effort to loosen it up a little ...preferably a lot!101Volts wrote:I'm removing that doggone screw remnant from the G saddle if I can by drilling it out (I know, Risky... I don't want to ruin the saddle either)

Re: 1966 Ventures II GC Restoration
Thanks. I'm still not yet sure how I'm going to drill it out.

And I don't think any type of lubricant will help getting it out without drilling. Its wedged in there pretty good, I think the screw might be stripped and trying to remove it without drilling might only make it worse. I'm going to use a drill press to drill it out.
