Holy Moly!

Postby MWaldorf » Thu Nov 13, 2008 10:46 pm

Holy Moly - MosriteForever passed along this photo of himself with Gene Moles' side-jack! Amazing guitar with the mistake plate, hand molded pickup covers, non-angled headstock and fretboard, plus the "Gene Moles" pickguard-guard! I'll let him take over the thread from here, but a big THANK YOU for sharing!

BTW, does the guitar have a serial number, or did Semie not start with S/Ns until the Ventures model?

And maybe he can explain what appears to be a stack of fuzzrites in the background?!?

Hello, I was honored to be able to strum on this guitar! It is a wonderful example of pre-Ventures Joe Maphis style guitar. It didn't have a serial number, but really doesn't need one. Suffice it to say my heart was racing and my palms sweaty being around this Mosrite memorabilia.

Nice guitar, I see you seem to have a vice like grip on it! Worried about it slipping out of your hands??!! lol

Hi all, Yes I did have a deathgrip on the Gene Moles guitar. As for the other question, I will have to defer to the owner to comment. Suffice it to say that I was in a Mosrite museum and was totally aghast the whole time at what I was seeing. I must respect the privacy of the owner so I won't comment beyond what I feel I can, but there was some serious Mosrite goodies there.
