Hallmark Owner's Corner!

Postby JimPage » Wed Sep 09, 2009 6:11 am

Hey!

How about a thread where owners of Hallmark guitars can gather and compare notes (pun intended)?

This will be a place to celebrate Bob Shade's creations, but discussion of the earlier Hallmarks and associated guitars and basses are welcomed, too!

Kicking this off, I am now the very proud owner of a black-and-white Stradette guitar and a Fire Sparkle Burst 60 Custom. Both are wonderful instruments, fun and easy to play, and they have gotten compliments, too, on the way they sound.

I'll try to get some photos up soon.

Take care--

My Fire Sparkle Red 60 Custom from the first run. Great guitar. I have shortened the vibrato bar.

Jim, that photo in an earlier thread is what convinced me to get the 60 Custom in the same color scheme. It looks like you could snap off the treble-side horn and eat it like candy!

Here's my custom custom (not a typo). One pick up, one knob and a locked down trem. I swear Bob was only going to do the Sheena until I called for this one. The next thing I know his road to ruin model is really close to the exact guitar I wanted. I'm glad I got this one first though, now I have an excuse to have both. I will need to do some mods though. I know I just hurt a few feelings out there... sorry.

Also - sorry for the blurry pic. I'll get a better one. You get the idea though.

Hey, Buttpace--

Did you get that locked-down tremelo that way from Bob or did you do that yourself? I like that white humbucker on that guitar.

Is that the pearl sparkly-white finish with a black pickguard?

Sure is attractive. Very classy. I could have used that when I had to wear a tux at country-club gigs back in the day!

OK, ...congrats to all you recent new Hallmark owners and future owners already. There, ...now I won't have to repeat that a hundred or so times in the near future

Bob locked it, looks as though there's just a screw in there. It is the sparkle white. I didn't realize it was sparkly until it arrived. It was a super bonus. I just got done practicing with it too. It sounds great through nothing but a Marshall half stack. I love this thing

Oh and is there a cooler case in the biz? I thought my Les paul's case was cool with its pink interior, but that alligator skin is awesome!
