Hi all. Merry Christmas. This guitar was kept out of sight and not really played that much. I met Steve at a gig I was doing about a year ago. Learning of my connection
with Semie he informed me he had bought a guitar "Venture Model" in 1963.
Last week he brought it down to Nashville so I could once again bring it to life.
The guitar is in excellent condition. No checking, perfect condition. Also
in Case compartment is the Original Guitar Strap shipped with the guitar. Steve
has entrusted me with the instrument. I will certainly play this outstanding
guitar for years to come. It is also worth saying that I took Steve out to Andy
Moseley's. Andy was thrilled to see it and because these were hand made, Andy
remembered his part in making the Pick-guard and pointed out a small little
"Thing" on the guard its self. Also this guitar will appear in a Major trade magazine
soon and I will let all know when and where. This just goes to show you never know
when something like this will turn up. Oh I believe it was kept under a bed for some
40 years and only took out to clean and check on. Steve is a guitar player and God bless him for taken care of this marvelous piece. I will have it in Anaheim, NAMM
Show or at Geek Fest. Oh one last thing, yes those are the original flying saucer
knobs. No replacement parts on entire instrument.
Luv to all
Elaine

Elaine, that's beautiful!!
The "Thing" that Andy was referring to, did that have anything to do with more
than "three?" I don't want to say, so PM me just to give a yey or ney .

Re: NEW UNCOVERED EARLY VENTURE MODEL WITH ORIG. GUITAR STRAP
To Dennis and others. Andy remembers that the shape and length that the pick guard protrudes on the lower horn is shorter than should be and he pointed out
that the taper on the tip of the horn was just slightly different. That was the "Thing" I referred to. I just wish now I had studied more of these early hand made instruments over the years.
I would like to ask the VENTURE Experts out there what their feelings are as
to the Max number of Bound Set Neck Ventures Model's you feel Semie Built.
Andy has said Quote: That there were Bound Set Neck models finished and buffed
and in stock that could be completed even after the Bolt-in Necks & no Binding
Models came out. I would not want to argue this point because Andy has two
of those left overs right now and has had them since the Bakersfield failure.
I learned a long time ago don't ever say never. Also does anyone know what's the highest serial number known for a Bound Set Neck model.

This is absolutely amazing Elaine; ...stuff that dreams are made of -what an exciting find, almost like discovering a Rembrandt at a Flea Market... I trust Steve realises that it has 'some' market value too, these days

Re: NEW UNCOVERED EARLY VENTURE MODEL WITH ORIG. GUITAR STRAP
Yes Steve knows. He didn't till I told him and Andy confirmed it to Steve when
I took him out to meet Andy. It was a great meeting. Steve had missed his guess
as to value by Thousands let me tell you that. I took him down to meet George
Gruhn who Steve had met at CAAS 2009. Lets just say its insured somewhere up
from 10K. Finding the absolute Original Strap in the pouch was Mind Blowing.
What it could sell for is being in the right place at the right time and someone
wants it more than someone else. It would need to be put on the Market and there is no chance that is going to happen. Before I would take the guitar I made
absolutely sure this is what he wanted to do. It was made very clear to me
that Steve wanted me to have it and play it. He and his wife have become
very good friends over the year we have known each other. We have done several
GIGS together. Its a great responsibility to accept something like this. I will play it on my next Album now for sure, no way I would not.

What a stunning specimen! Thank you for posting that. It's amazing how little treasures turn up from time to time, especially after so many years.

I don't believe I've ever seen a real '63 in that good of shape. Is that 7 screws I see on the pickguard?
