Hello from steamy Mn.

Postby colinmccarty2003 » Thu Aug 12, 2010 5:05 pm

Hello,

My name is Colin, I'm 44 and have a problem with an unwieldy collection of guitars & amps.

While digging around in some misc. parts I have found something you all may be interested in.

I have what appears to be a NOS Moseley Trem tailpiece.

I haven't a clue to it's worth. Any help would be welcome!

I'd rather not list it on E-bay or Craig'slist, figured if anyone has an interest it'd be a gang of Mosrite nuts.

Cheers!

Colin

It's absolutely worthless. Send it to me and I'll dispose of it for you.

I could take the trem off your hands but then I'd still have the problem of getting all the other remaining parts that constitute a Mosrite guitar. I once bought a bell but still needed a bicycle to put it on
But seriously, there'll be someone out there who needs your NOS trem.

I think the difficult part is going to be finding a buyer who wants an incomplete item. Coming up with the arm, spring, washer, and nut to make this a functional unit will cost another $100 most likely, and it will take effort to complete. $200 might be a little steep. I've seen complete Moseley tremolos sell for $200 on eBay.

Remember these go on either a Celebrity or Combo. You can pickup up a nice complete guitar for $700-$1,200 so there is not a lot of budget to work with in restoring one. Perhaps $100-150 is more in line for this part.

Here is a Moseley tremolo base (Eddy) for $49.99.
