I have tossed around what name to put on it, when it hit me. I have a certain way that I sign my name, That is what I'm going to use. My signature model.....

Re: Venture a Guess ?
Here's more work on the neck.
I cut the angle, then reversed the piece I cut off, and superglued it back on to extend the length of the overhang. Then using a razor blade very carefully simulated grain across the line where the two piece met. Then Black sharpie to simulate the grain color vertically.
Next I have to cut the pocket side to match round on both sides. The neck below the tuners also had to be cut to include the half round end, originally it was smooth. All holes are filled with epoxy resin so I can redrill and maintain 100% strength. this also works anywhere you need to repair a hole and want maximum strength. It finishes after paint to undetectable.

Well so much for this fine adventure.
The Guitar body arrived today, and it's way under sized. Almost appears 3/4 scale.
Well I'm not going to sink any more dough into this albatross.
Sorry for the incomplete project.

What a bummer...Sorry to hear that Dan but you made the right decision IMO not "to throw good money after bad".

Hey, if you don't try...you get awful bored! I've got two walls in my shop where I hang project guitars, north wall, successes, south wall, failures...guess which one is getting pretty full...

Dan,
All is not lost - maybe all it needs is a student sized neck, like off a Strat mini. String it up and tune it to A!

All is not completely lost, I'm considering making a body.
The project never was intended to be an exact replica clone of the ventures model. More to familiarize myself with the design. maybe later the real thing.

Re: Venture a Guess ?
I've decided to continue with the project.
I needed a fret puller, so being the thrifty person I Am, I made one.
I've decided to work on making a zero fret.
Here are the components and the modified nut slot on the neck.
Next is the zero fret neck extension.
Next is the zero fret extension gluing to the neck. Notice the fret just waiting patiently to be mounted to it's new home.
After the glue sets over night, I'll file and sand the extension down to match the neck, then cut the fret slot, and mount the fret, then final height adjusting.

Re: Venture a Guess ?
Nice work! I like the footprint of your addition, it will hold well even with the slot cut for the zero fret.
