Who is the real Mosrite now?

From the new guy, Jim Wagner to all my friends out there in forum land, can someone tell me who is the real mosrite person. Is it Loretta Moseley or Dana Moseley. It all seems like a big mystery as to who is the real Mosrite person now. Thanx, Jim

Greetings and welcome to the forum. Neither Loretta Moseley or Dana Moseley own the legal rights to the Mosrite name. Fillmore Guitars from Japan own the legal rights to the Mosrite name. Fillmore was awarded this priviledge through a lawsuit and if you search the forum you will find many references to this subject. Dana Moseley is working with Fillmore guitars in the production of her Mosrite guitars at a small assembly operation out of Bakersfield, California.

It's a little more complicated than that, MOSDAN. Fillmore is the registered owner of the Mosrite name in the States and has been since the original registration lapsed following Semie Moseley's death. The lawsuit you are referring to did not however award Fillmore this privilege; rather the Japanese courts have refused to enforce Fillmore's claim believing that they are not in fact the rightful owner. Even as we speak I believe the dispute is in litigation.

Dockrockrecords, I appreciate your correction concerning this issue. In 2009 Dana advised me that Fillmore owned the rights to the Mosrite name. I am very interested to see the results of the litigation as I know this has been long and drawn out for quite awhile. Thanks again.

Fillmore is the owner of Mosrite. they own everything Mosrite,except Mosrite Records,still owned by Andy Moseley.

Hi Everyone,
Who owns the rights to the trademarked logo/phrase "Mosrite of California"? I've noticed Fillmore offers this in Japan, but the models Dana puts together are "Mosrite of Originals", as sold by Artie here in the USA. I would think because Dana assembles the parts in Bakersfield, and does the final wiring and set-up, that these would qualify as "Mosrite of California".
Is there a legal issue? I don't want to step on toes here if this is a problem.

Artie, this was also my understanding. Considering that Dana is always in contact with Mr. Yusa I would think she has the correct information. As to the question of ownership of "Mosrite of California" and why it is allowed in Japan but not in the USA; can you shed any light on this?

Dana told me she assembled only 10 "mosrite of california" guitars for the japan market. the designation "originals" is being used to let people know that the guitars are made by Dana here in Bakersfied,and not a forgery. Loretta has lost all rights for mosrite in the US.
