Paul,
I LOVE hearing stories like this ;) .

I was thinking that maybe we could 'plan a certain calendar date' one weekend on a SAT where we would all take our Mo's, Hallmarks, Elliott, TNMs, etc, into our local established National Music Chains (Guitar Center, Sam Ash, etc). Saturdays are usually a nice busy day to stir up some commotion with our instruments  .
I've have done this in the past on a local level and it works beautifully, not to mention a lot of fun. And if we could get enough members to participate in this Mosrite Awareness Weekend  on a specified SAT date and stir up enough 'friendly commotion' with our instruments, some of the ALERT Sales Guys just might hand this 'feedback info' to their Gtr Mgr or maybe even the Store Mgr. Usually these Dept Mgr's have a monthly meet with new products, what customers are asking for, etc.....Well....with a little luck, who knows what might happen when all of a sudden, the National chain stores are getting all these inquiries from ALL their different Store Locations :o ???
make the Mos' of it, choose the 'rite stuff.

Now we're talkin'.
Take it to the people and if we can help even one person discover Mosrites... it'll be worth it.
Dammit—we have to try.
I'm dying to wear my Mosrite Forum tshirt around Sydney just to spread the word.
Bill.

Gibson would never allow it. The large chains aren't going to carry Mosrites. Besides, there are no "real" Mosrites for them to carry. The Japanese "Mosrites" are tied up with Roman and the ones Dana are building are too few and too expensive for the chains to consider. Hate to rain on a parade, but that's just the reality.

As far as the Hallmarks, I 'm not sure Bob Shade would want a distribution deal with the chains.

But, stirring up the chains store customers with a show of Mosrite power might be a gas. Sort of a "Look what you can't have" deal ;)

8-) Hey fellas Im new here. My name is Abraham and I'm a Mosrite freak. I signed up to this forum after a little discussion with Mel Waldorf(well he did most of the talking, I mostly asked questions) about 2 weeks ago. He recommended that I join this forum so here I am. Sorry if this is somewhat of an inconvenience but I didn't feel the new to introduce myself in the Introduction forum. Anyways this dude is using a Hallmark 60's Custom and it sounds pretty good. Check it out!
Apparently he switched the pick ups with some original Mosrite pick ups. Sounds good but what do you fellas think? I wonder what it would sound like with some Fuzz!

Hello CycleDelic and welcome :) ,

I just red your post with the nice vid of us - I'm the guy with the blue jazzmaster playin' rythm, while ralf plays lead with his Custom 60 (I have one too and love it - you can find some pics of me playin' it live earlier in this thread).

At the time, we had taken this vid, Ralf played the stock Hallmark PUPs - so that's what you hear on the vid. He played through a 90ies Fender Dual Professional Amp with replaced speakers (I think he has Jensen Neodyne instead of the stock Celestion Vintage 30).

I'll check out different PUPs as well these days, but I definately like the stock ones a lot. I fear, that I will have to have another Custom 60 ;) (one with stock, one with Ed Elliott PUPs)...

:) best Twangs
Matze

I love my Hallmark a lot and won’t even think of changing the stock pups; they’re just fine! (I might want to lower them a bit sometime, though).

Hello and welcome CycleDelic. (BTW it’s customary here for new folks to start at the “Introduction page” -for a number of reasons, one being that those members not reading this thread are also given the opportunity to welcome you…)

Fuzz? …my “ashbass FUZZbrite” (a Mosrite FUZZrite clone) loves it too! The Hallmark really makes it come alive with that fuzz sound you wish to hear and providing plenty of room for tweaking.
When I played my Hallmark 60 Custom through a modern copy of a VOX ac30 amp (made in China) at the annual Shadows Fans Meeting/workshop last Sunday, I practically ‘shredded’ the poor amp! This was partly due to inexperience on my part probably too; the distortion was way over the top…so you could say there was hardly any need for fuzz! (LOL) . The photographer there must’ve distorted too; see how one of the pics he took of me turned out:

Cool picture Veenture.....
Hey man, that's really far out ....the photo has sort of a trippy '60's vibe to it ;).

My first gig outing with my Hallmark Custom 60 is this weekend...should be an interesting experience to see what she does when I open her up at stage volume in the heat of battle.

LOL! I showed this to a couple of my older cousins that had turned me on to "the Ventures"
and they REMEMBERED this SCENE back then, actually from the later 60s!

Vec,
When you 'open her up' at Stage Volume in the Heat of Battle, You WILL 'Own the Stage! ;)
Just think of it as you just 'floored the Pedal' on one of those Muscle Cars from the 60's....
And to quote what I proudly have mounted on my sunvisor in my Twin Turbo Mitsu VR-4:
