Nope. I don't remember seeing the guild knobs on a '64. Even the late '63s already had the
jewel knobs (lathe knobs). Some early '64s still had the body binding (probably leftover '63s).
I might be wrong about this, but I've never seen one B4). But there is something kind of weird
with the Guild knobs on there unless that person specifically wanted those on his Bass.

I'd guess Semie was simply using left over stock. He had already put the Ventures model six string into assembly line production, so using the limited supply of left over plastic knobs would only seem logical to an extremely limited run of basses of the time. Sorta like he did using left hand or upside down neck plates on his 70s basses like the one I have. Left over stock on hand.

Early 1966 VM Bass –1 PUP- “Topjack”
Interesting feature on this model is the apparent 'shift' of the bridge cover. ChazDeSpaz said: (borrowed from: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1460 ):

That's a V-II bass, circa 1973. 2 humbuckers, 2 volume / 2 tone / 2 push buttons (probably phase). ONE output = mono (from the Greek).

I've seen a few of these models with the push buttons.Some were phase,and some were "straight through" switches, that bi-passed the vol & tone controls.

Mine is a '73 and has the 'Black Cherry Burst' (no yellow). The Switchcraft Push Buttons on mine are of the 'by-pass VOL & TONE" Mode type.
