Well I was trying to keep a low profile, but should have known posting a picture of that last guitar would create interest. I only posted the photos to reciprocate (been checking out this site for a while and figured it was only fair that I share). However, after seeing Bob K's collection and the stuff Deke posted, I wasn't expecting this reaction.
It’s an original '63 Ventures, although I am not the original owner. Certainly the Vibramute, pots and case are authentic. Notably the craftsmanship matches that of early Mosrites, idiosyncrasies and all. There is no serial number. That said, I was taken aback by Ed Elliott's sidejack reproductions posted on this site--their only fault may be that they are too slick!
On the other guitars--the brass rail is a '77, maroon and the serial number is in the 80s/ The Mark III or American model is an '84 from North Carolina-- a testament to Semie's skills as a luthier and from what I've read here it looks like Ed Elliott pitched in too. Those later Mosrites are still under rated, IMO.
The Mark V is lighter than the Ventures II, but otherwise they are pretty comparable.
Still trying to maintain that low profile, but thanks for your interest/questions.
